Cassie I forgot to thank you way way back for your definition of glissando. Sometimes it sounds as if Adam missed the note then slides into the right one, and I wondered how is that even possible when he's so trained ( and so talented ) so, it is done to colour the song.

ITA with this. You're right - the 30 Seconds to Mars film concerned their old contract with EMI. I know we'll never see the actual details of Adam's contract with RCA, but I'm pretty sure he came out okay. He's one of those artists that just has too much talent for them to mess with! And one of the things I really admire about DMG is that they have a small number of artists & they focus on taking care of them. They're in for the long haul with Adam & both parties have alot of money to be made....and like the rest of you, I'm certainly contributing my part!!! As long as Adam makes money, it makes me happy! Adam is fortunate RCA didn't shelve him like they did Jordin Sparks. Jordin is talented, young, beautiful and in a high profile relationship (Jason Derulo. It should be easy to market her. She has had an album complete for 5 years waiting for RCA to release it. Having no label would be better than being in limbo with a major label doing nothing with you. Why would they not drop her and let her find another deal? www.idolator.com/7497894/jordin-sparks-new-album“It’s been almost five years, though!” she said with a sigh of exasperation. Per the host’s question — “How long does it take to release an album?” she exclaimed, “Thank you! Ask them,” and motioned offscreen, presumably to her label reps. “How long does it take?”Jordin got an advance from RCA for her third album and they put out 3 "buzz" singles in 2013. The plan was to release the first one to create buzz for the lead single for her album. The first song generated no buzz. The other 2 single were just dumped out there with no promo. Jordin proves the myth of big pop single = recording career. The reality is that you need to sell albums and you must have an active, passionate fanbase more than anything. And even in 2010 she could not sell concert tickets. I can't find the boxscores for her concerts but I recall there were a lot of $1 tickets given out. They were offering $1 ticket coupons to her concert to the Adam fans in line at Sayerville, NJ in 2010.

I don't want to drag that OT topic out here, but based on impressions I got in the media, the picture is significantly more mixed. mj has a good summary of all the moving parts, for those who are interested. Don't want to bring it here, as it really does not matter to Adam anymore. Sometimes someone gets asked to leave, and yet gets paid out per contract agreement. Still probably a very rough time for her. Whatever WAS actually going on, no one will really know til Glee is done, as a show.

[/quote] As someone who has enjoyed hearing Jordan's songs on the radio, the three singles released for this new album were terrible and I could not figure out why or how they were chosen. And if she is going to be a singles seller then give her decent singles. Her boyfriend has had several good ones, can't he help a girl out?

Sandy, the best time to release an album is Fall & I am very confident Adam's will be in either Oct. or Nov. the Grammy cut off date is Sept 30. I would expect the Album after that. I am expecting the single before that. But all just speculation. No, waiting until 2015 would Not be better. Jan - May are Dead months & too long since last album. TBH, even Fall 2014 is too long since the last album, in Pop world!

True, but we lived thru the horrific singles ourselves, didn't we? and we know the album is brilliant... so RCA is being RCA I suppose... Q3, I also remember them giving out those $1 promo cards while we were waiting to get into the venue in NJ...

Like most of you, I was hoping that LMD would be a US Avicii single. It may be a future US single, but it doesn't appear as if it is the "next" US single.
Last week, I was listening to Z100 on Sirius, and the DJ played "Addicted to You" and called it "Avicii's new hit".
Then , this morning I got email from Macy's promoting the Ralph Lauren men's fashion line Denim & Supply, which in turn promotes Avicii as the D & S symbol of "cool". The ad has a picture of Avicii and a video screen with a play button marked "Addicted to Love". The copy reads: "Watch our video for AVICII's single "Addicted to Love" and shop the looks you love…"
So based on this promo, I would say "Addicted to Love" is next.

it grandduchesspf.. do you think he's on the sly do you? hmm.. interesting theory. I have a question, apologize if it's already answered several times. Must admit to speed skimming most days ( I just can't get interested in the business of music, running two businesses out of our home is nightmare enough).. anyway, questions. 1. How soon and where do you think they will start practicing for Queenbert.. how many weeks away? 2. How much of the album do you think is wrapped up, our soonish A3? 3. How much pressure do you think Adam is feeling to wrap this up before Queenbert ( real or self inflicted ) before he is travelling for what appears to be the better part of the summer? 4. Assuming a fall release of single/album.. it does sound as if it's being suggested the entire album is going to be done before any announcements/promo/possible single release is going to happen.. and I wonder why the strategy in that as well, does that put it out of this years Grammy's, and if so, would a ( don't slap me ) 2015 release date be better for business? Gah, back to business! How did that happen? Thank you to all your good minds for your input. Here are my best answers..... 1. How soon and where do you think they will start practicing for Queenbert.. how many weeks away?Guess - Adam will be in rehearsals for about 2 weeks, they will finish rehearsals at least 1 week before the first concert. My bet is they start rehearsals around May 20-21. 2. How much of the album do you think is wrapped up, our soonish A3?Guess - It is all recorded and they are working on the production. 3. How much pressure do you think Adam is feeling to wrap this up before Queenbert ( real or self inflicted ) before he is travelling for what appears to be the better part of the summer? Guess - None. He can work on it while he is touring. I am pretty sure all the writing and vocal recording is done. This is the big one. If Adam has a one year release agreement with RCA as I believe he does. And if the date on that one year is the anniversary of the latest option date (Trespassing + 1 Year). Then Adam is not free to promote anything until the 2 year anniversary of Trespassing's release which is May 14, 2014. I am convinced that the plan is to release a single in August 2014 after the Queen + AL tour. This is not based on any inside info, just what makes sense. The promotional strategy and released dates will have nothing to do with Grammy's. Nothing. But they will have something to do with Holiday music buying. The best schedule for sales and for radio promo is.... August - lead single Late October - November - album release Q1 (Jan-Mar) - single #2 If Adam's next single is released in August 2014, it will Qualify for the Grammys. The recording must be released between October 1, 2013 to September 30, 2014. 4. ....and if so, would a ( don't slap me ) 2015 release date be better for business? There is no doubt Adam and his time is working on a 2014 release. If the album is not good, then it makes sense to wait until 2015. Otherwise it is a bad business decision -- the label could easily have a $1 million investment in this album already -- spending started in January-February 2014. They will want some revenue in the same year as the expenses. Also, Max Martin is involved -- probably as Executive Producer or Co-Executive Producer -- and he will want it released this year.
Just my best guesses.
