Hi Everyone
I have been off at a retreat center teaching solidly for the last 10 days and returned home at 1 AM last night (some genius decided to pave a runway at Newark on the busiest night of the week) and am EXHAUSTED!!! Spent the day wandering around a mall close to the hospital where DH had to undergo some diagnostic procedures. Thankfully everything is fine. The high point of the day was walking into a store and being blown away with what was on their playlist or whatever each of these stores does as their music source - LMD!!!! I have NEVER heard it anywhere in the USA except when Adam sang it at Biloxi and Winstar.
Can I say how amazing it sounded? I was positively giddy. I really felt certifiable in that moment. I would like to be that giddy everyday. I think not releasing LMD as a single would be insane. It is a helluva a song.

Isn't Peter Pan for the children? If so, then Adam would be perfect. Children seem to me mesmerized by his voice. Look how that baby reacted in the interview when Adam spoke...and there are numerous other examples of children wanting to here his music. (Actually, maybe he would be better as the Pied Piper. LOL) Children don't really care how old or young you look, IMO it's the way you sound. My GD was totally in love with Steve on Blues Clues from the time she was very young and it had nothing to do with the way he looked...as soon as she heard his voice she would stop and give the show her full attention...never failed to amaze me. So, if Adam chooses to play Peter Pan, I'm all for it...but, honestly, I don't think he will.

BUT if they wanted to have a great, none boring show, they would follow my advice and make Peter Pan "so hot, out the box".

It really comes down to Adam, Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, and Justin Timberlake. Who am I missing? Well, Wikipedia in all its wisdom, has a list of tenors in non-classical music. It is a tad longer than just 4, includes all the (high vocal) rock legends we can think of, and many others, and there may be only a few younger ones among them. Also, it misses quite a few people besides Chris Colfer, that I could think of when it came to that role. i.e. Andrew Rannells. They also miss such legends as Billy Porter, and while he obviously at age 45 is not exactly Peter Pan material, he sure is an excellent tenor voice and should be listed. They do list Adam though, so the list must be worth at least something, right? So, please take this list with a tremendous grain bucket of salt. I am just posting it to demonstrate that the overall talent pool for tenor voices in musical theater may be a tad bigger than four. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_tenors_in_non-classical_musicI could not open that USAtoday article either, so not sure what they are saying, but I for my part think that Adam would not be right for the part. Btw, I think he looks around his age right now, but the chameleon that he is, his pictures vary widely. In some he looks 35, in others 25. But in no picture of the last 3 years would I say he looks 18 or younger. During idol he still was quite boyish at times, but he has left that behind, maturity-wise and also in looks. Re JCS: The whole movie remake idea is suffering from the fact, that a) in the US today and maybe even worldwide, the times are going against doing this, for all the reasons Q3 has listed, and that is also, why it has not happened yet, imo. b) that first version was brilliant in many ways, and it would be easy to miss on a redo. The movie's brilliance was it's ability to build this bridge between year 0 (or 23AD or whatever) as the one pillar of that bridge and with 1970 AD as the other. There is today no cultural consensus that could represent the artistic expression of a generation like this. In 1970, this cultural dream existed and it was possible to visually express it. Not today. c) Carl Anderson did one mighty good job. Vocally, I am not concerned, but the embed-ment of the character goes far beyond the voice or the acting. Did Adam sing the heck out of HOTMs? Of course he did. His improvement today is not so much that he has reached new heights, he had those at that time already, but rather that he has learned to internalize some things more, sing them less frantically, and that sometimes less is more. Yes, he would do it much better than that old video lets on, if he would do it today. His lower register is stronger today, which is nice too. But Carl Anderson had a secondary story to add, just by who he was, which matched the overall story they were trying to tell with the musical. Adam does not have that going for him at this time, not in this context. I agree with Q3. Right now, I don't think he should do it, maybe in 10 years the times are ripe for it, who knows. I do think that Adam could be great in that part, but he needs to fit the role in more ways, than just the voice. Something with come his way, eventually. Right now, he is still very much focused on his present career, so in a way, it is good that this is still a tad away. First things first.

USA Today is a video -- not an article. Really not important but their backstage reporter has Adam on her list at #3. *** Regarding Peter Pan, the part is not just a Tenor Part, it is a High Tenor Part. Adam and Chris Colfer are both there. Most adult male tenors are not. It is often sung by a female alto. And they apparently want to keep the sons in the same key people know. There are others but what you elimination vocalist who are over 35, or fat or large men without a lean build, and who are not "beautiful", there are not many left. I am not trying to convert anyone to my point of view, but Adam really does fit that part except he is tall. David Bowie at 30 would have been perfect. JMHO.
