I didn't realize that Idol was all about who is the boy or girl next door, my bad. I find it more interesting to watch Caleb bash mic stands than watch Alex sing a song looking like he has to go pee desperately... I have no vested interest in any of them but it would not aggravate me to see Adam sing with Caleb. I like watching Adam sing... period To get to see/hear Adam sing on my TV, he could even sing with Ryan, Keith or JLo. BUT I draw the line at Adam singing with Harry! Unless Harry just plays the piano! Yes, I would love to see Adam with Harry on piano. That would be a good duet. Randy can play bass. They both just have to promise to not talk. Not say one word.  Yes, and promise NOT to cut away to JLo while Adam is singing.
Tinafea......I totally agree with you. I'll take Caleb over Alex any day. I'd prefer Jena to win, but I really don't care all that much.

Not to be mean, (which of course means I AM going to be mean), but I have really negative feelings about Caleb. I think someone earlier called him boorish, to that I would add arrogant.
And now here is the mean part. If Caleb does get the privilege of singing with Queen and Adam Lambert, my secret wish would be for Adam, who to my mind is the best singing partner, the most gracious duet singer, who never over sings his partner, would just for one time blow this 80's cover dude out of the water. SANG, Adam. Just this once show him how it is done by a trained, intelligent, audience including star. I think Caleb needs some humbling, and if he doesn't do it himself, the industry will do it when he gets out of the Idol bubble.
Also, Caleb, please learn how to take care of your voice. If you want to be a singer, that should be one of the basic tenets. Isn't that Singing 101? Especially since you seem to have experience fronting bands and doing gigs. I know, I know, as the judges painstakingly and incessantly pointed out, you were sick. And apparently hemorrhaging.
But I remember Adam (in an AI package, actually) saying that his experience worked for him because it taught him to "sing through a cold." So I know it can be done. Adam on AI out sang Caleb in every way, in every genre, with every note, and still maintained his voice. If you really want to be a singer, you better value your instrument enough to do what needs to be done to take care of it. Even on a home town visit. This is such a great shot at your dream, why take even the slightest chance with your voice?
Whew, lotta venom for so early, huh? Caleb to me is just the antithesis of all that I admire in Adam, including versatility, devotion to the craft of singing, range, like ability and attitude. Also just plain savviness.
IMO, it is just plain stupid to call anyone one, any group, retards. There is no backpedaling on that, no explaining. And the fact that he did not just come out with a direct apology acknowledging that says everything, IMO.
