I'm not too worried about Adam's own music - it will happen and it will succeed commercially or it won't whenever it appears. But by giving himself now to a Queen tour, for a few short months, he can probably set himself up with financial security for life - how many people would turn that down? I wouldn't want him to limit his opportunities with Queen, just to bring forward something with such uncertain rewards, however artistically laudable. This tour will give him personal highs in his career and will forever cushion him from the low bits - hopefully, it will give him choices and a good degree of protection from compromise in his future career. My DH and I were discussing this at lunch. This tour is something that can never be taken away. I mean how many people get to be the frontman of Queen with Queen jubilant to have you and totally supportive. Never never can this be replaced. Adam wears his Queen on his sleeve now showing how deeply he cares. I am sure he feels the pressure to get his music out but Adam has already made clear that this tour is a pinnacle in his career. And as Sophie, says this will set him up financially. What is a few weeks compared to never to be replaced experiences with Queen on their last tour through places where they are beloved and Adam is the chosen one to be on this journey with them. I can't dictate to others but I am thrilled with this and thrilled for Adam. It is historic and he is iconic in this role and will be in his solo life to follow. |

Slightly OT but... Judge strikes down Oregon gay marriage ban
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A federal judge has struck down Oregon's same-sex marriage ban, saying it is unconstitutional.
U.S. District Judge Michael McShane threw out the voter-approved ban Monday.
State officials have said they'd be prepared to carry out same-sex marriages almost immediately, and couples lined up outside the county clerk's office in Portland in anticipation of the decision.
Four gay and lesbian couples brought suit arguing Oregon's marriage laws unconstitutionally discriminate against same-sex couples and exclude them from a fundamental right.
State officials refused to defend the ban, and McShane earlier denied a request by the National Organization for Marriage to intervene on behalf of its Oregon members.
