Saw both LV shows, can't add any superlatives to the mix. It's Queen, it's Adam, it's Las Vegas, it's a small venue. Magic happened. Plus glitter shower.
But i did want to add for those who are restraining themselves from watching the videos, IMO, I think it will be worth the abstinence. I didn't have the fortitude myself, gorged on all the videos and still loved the shows, but I think there will be an added dimension of freshness for you all.
Missed the brunch, this older lady was tired and slept through it! So I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet with the group.
And for all those with shows still to see, have the time of your life. Seeing the audience love for Queen and for Adam is priceless. One thing I really enjoyed from the floor was looking back for the last two songs and seeing the entire venue on it's feet. The energy at that point is fabulous.
And just have to note, again, a sense of wonderment that any single human being can be so blessed. Honestly, way more than his fair share in the looks department. Still amazes me when I see him in person that so many factors can come together is such an incredibly striking way. He has it all. It is almost like he is another species that just sort of glows. Yep, the fierce alien. He is gorgeous, breathtaking, incredible. And how can anybody be so beautiful, so strong, so sexy, and then in a nanosecond turn into a geeky self effacing charmer? And then he moves. And then he sings.
Ded, just ded.
One other story. Second night I was in the balcony. At the rail on the right was a bald, tattooed, pointy bearded man, maybe 40ish, and he was Rocking Out hard core to WWRY. After the show I approached him, and asked if he was a Queen fan. He was lovely, and said yes, he was, and for a long time. I asked what he thought of Adam Lambert as the singer, and he looked at me cautiously, and said, well, I don't know if I should say this in front of you, but he was FUCKING AWESOME! We had quite a moment of celebration, it was fun.
Also, glitter shower from the balcony is stupendous, everything is blanketed with glowing reflective gold including the audience. Nice effect. And the lasers? There is one point where there is a red beam with thin white lines on either side. Never seen that before. In the balcony the laser beams were low enough to pass your hands through.
And the black clingy pants? Thank you stylist. And also a shout out to whoever mentioned the lucky person who got to assist with Adam's costume changes. Have not been able to get that image out of my mind. So much fun to be having those safe yet purient thoughts about this (to me) youngster.
