This whole thing about Adam's tardiness...I just checked back on the concert thread for Vegas (p. 2) and there was a post at about 5:50 pm of Adam arriving at the venue. Unless he leaves after the sound check and returns later ready for the show? All that being said, he seems to usually be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be. Seems like the delayed show starts for this tour might be more because of getting the audience into the arenas rather than Adam being late. (Sorry I sound a little defensive of Adam here! This whole lateness meme makes him sound like Axl Rose sometimes!) ETA: I do see that on Sunday he arrived after 7:30. So they must have been discussing Sunday rather than Saturday. Still, the show started pretty much on time! It is! The Joint did not have the most organized staff, especially the first night. Weird, since they have concerts ALL THE TIME! 8:15 gives people a chance to get drinks and such. Anyway, the Vegas shows were scheduled for 8:00, so a 15-20 minute delay is really nothing, for any concert! I asked one of the staff members on Saturday. He said they reconfigured the whole floor, making the center section bigger and moving the right and left further to the sides. They made so many last minute changes, the STAFF had to read the row labels in marker on the floor.

Brian and Roger both seem to be in good health, so I expect them to continue doing this until they drop! They've both got a few years to go before they hit 70, which is only a number in this day and age! Look at Paul McCartney, for pete sake; he's 72...and still going strong! God bless them all, I say! If you've still got it, use it! Why not? We only go around once, so do what you love! Just noticed that Brian (July 19) and Roger (July 26) both have birthdays coming up this month!
Thank you guys for your warm and welcoming messages! So much appreciated! Will do my best to participate more! My QAL concert is coming up on July 20 in MD, and I'm over the moon excited about it! Since Merriweather Post Pavilion is an outdoor venue (Oh, geez! The heat!!), I'm anxious to see if they have any sort of catwalk setup! I hope so 'cause I'm in Center section, Row T, and that would bring Adam just a bit closer to me! EEEEEEEEEE!!!

For Talon:
Okay, let's say that SCC is supposed to be sung like Hetfield did it. I understand that it's a 'cacophonous rage' and that Hetfield surely expresses that better. That constatation, of course, does little to minimize the overall brilliance of Adam's work on QAL.
But other than expressing personal preference, I don't see that it has to be some kind of a rule or the only credible opinion among music connoisseurs, that only a hard rock voice can interpret a hard rock song. There's so much beauty in contrast:))) For example, I have always found incredibly appealing when some bands offer the contrast between a particular music style, rock/hard rock in this case, with suprising vocal, soft or lyrical, the one that should belong to another genre, perhaps... and make that mash not only convincing, but its contrast the main source of originality and freshness... Make it a surprise how good it actually sounds, shatter the preconceived notions a bit. Play with the rules.
There is something to be said about the feeling which arises from the play between hard sounding guitar and the light, but powerful vocals. I tried to come up with comparisons, and only managed to think of female rock bands, like Belly, or the Breeders... Incredibly sexy.
So, I will always take sexy and intriguing over bringing the content of the song more correctly, as I suppose was the case with Hetfield. But I do understand everything you said, and it's, as you would say, different strokes:)))
This is a Serbian band:) I love her voice. The video is a bit saucy so consider yourselves warned. It's supposed to illustrate my point.
