For Talon: Okay, let's say that SCC is supposed to be sung like Hetfield did it. I understand that it's a 'cacophonous rage' and that Hetfield surely expresses that better. That constatation, of course, does little to minimize the overall brilliance of Adam's work on QAL. I completely agree. I never would deny that Adam has some moments of brilliance during these gigs. For me, he has moments of absolute brilliance, moments of excellence, and some...not quite there moments for me but overall even though I haven't seen it in person, he does the job quite well I highly enjoyed QPR but for different reasons. But many people ask which is better QPR or QAL. I can't compare. They are two complete separate ideas at this point.... Definitely not a rule (for me) and I love the idea of playing....I mean that's one of the reasons I love Queen. The fact that they were able to do something like SCC and then go off and do Bring Back Leroy Brown on the same album. Then later on go to AOBTD and then Good Company Queen was THE definition of a band that didn't conform to rules for a rock band. I think it works better with female voalists *shrug* I dug that for the most part. A little bass heavy for me, but I had no problem with the vocals there.

OT but can someone explain to me the pro and con of doing a zip mp3 file for a concert to DL each song separately and putting it in iTunes? I did a zip file for Vegas 1 to go to 'automatic add to iTunes' and now I can't find it in my iTunes.lol When I do each song separate they are scattered anywhere in my iTunes song catalog and since they aren't labeled Vegas 1 I am getting everything mixed up and confused with the other concerts I downloaded! I'm probably not making any sense here but I need help!lol Please!! My iTunes is so unorganized I can't find anything!! And with all the concerts we have still to come I'm like this !!

Not really a recap – but more of a musing of sorts…to express some of the awesomeness of this Queen and ADAM experience for me to date… Saw the opening show in Chicago with ljsmack and several of you and “17,000 of our closest and dearest friends” – good seats, great music, wonderful beginning to what is to be this Epic Queen and Adam tour… Took me a long while to “sort” out all of my emotions from that first time experience… Las Vegas – 2nd night (only did the one night) – Great balcony seats, 2nd row – most everyone was sitting in our section for most of the night, but those behind us were well warned in advance, that we would be standing and dancing and singing. OMG what a wonderful evening - Still haven’t had my “up close” and “in person” Adam experience but we had a great view of the stage and video screens to bring it all closer and personal. Had done some homework on Stone Cold Crazy and a few others that were lesser known to me (thanks Talon and Q3) and the Las Vegas experience was enhanced by that and the videos of other shows leading up to Las Vegas – (Thanks to ALL of you for the many wonderful videos that you have so graciously shared). Love Kills has become my favorite as he seems to bring more and more emotion to the song with each and every show. Didn’t think it would ever replace WWTLF for me, but it has.. Tie your Mother Down – another song that has grown on me over the course of this tour… What fun. Thanks so much to those Atopers immediately around me – ljsmack, Barbara from Dallas, No Angel and others who helped enhance the experience even more through their joy, excitement, enthusiasm and overall “squeeing” during the entire concert. I think we certainly converted some Queen fans or I should say Adam converted them and we encouraged. A lady beside me was experiencing Adam for the first time ever and was utterly amazed – Two Queen fans (a father and his young daughter –maybe 10/11) were still sitting in amazement long after the concert as well as if trying to savor the experience just a little longer. Then as we are leaving the venue, ljsmack sees Carmit, Taylor and others of Adam’s friends who had come from California to support “the new boy”. Las Vegas itself and all of you wonderful Atopers made this concert one to be remembered. The brunch hosted by Grandduchess, the added fun of green ribbons, Atop name tags (compliments of ljsmack) and door prizes added to the “company” of friends and the festive air of celebration of renewed and new acquaintances. Another very lengthy post would still not cover all I have to say and feel about this wonderful group of Adam fans and how my life has been enriched in knowing you. Even my 8+ hour wait at the Las Vegas airport yesterday could not dampen the weekend. Additional time was spent with Graceful Adam who was also delayed. I wore my Queen & Adam Lambert concert shirt and that instigated many conversations with Queen fans and “newbies” alike…We do truly live in a small world…. One thing that has been interesting in this experience for me has been my “renewed” appreciation for the wonderful musicianship of Brian and Roger and the group – Brian in particular – Awesome guitarist and he is finding such joy in this experience and sharing that joy with us through his extraordinary work. Thanks for letting me share…Detroit and Toronto are next on my “bucket list” of new places and experiences - Hope to see many of you there as we celebrate our love for this wonderful, talented artist and his “backing band”.

A fan on Twitter tweeted a screenshot of the morning show, Good Day LA. Below a pic of Adam & Brian on stage, the ticker said: Adam Lambert may become full-time member of Queen.
Any other sources reporting this? You can see the pic on my Twitter account, @susanneahhh

Thanks Murly for the recap. I am glad you were able to go and had a good time. I have to wait for Atlantic City for my good time.

EPIX to Air Gay Athletes Doc Shot Secretly During Sochi Olympics (Exclusive) "To Russia With Love," produced by Robert Redford and Laura Michalchyshyn's Sundance Productions, features figure skater turned broadcaster Johnny Weir as host-interviewer. EPIX is bringing a documentary about gay athletes to the small screen that was partially shot during the Sochi Winter Games. Titled To Russia With Love, the documentary features figure skater turned broadcaster Johnny Weir as host-interviewer and chronicles two generations of Olympic LGBT athletes. The film is produced by Robert Redford and Laura Michalchyshyn's Sundance Productions. Weir was on hand at the Olympics in Russia, which has strict anti-gay laws on the books, as an on-air figure skating analyst for NBC. The documentary will make its world premiere Oct. 22.
Films
To Russia with Love examines human rights through the lens of LGBT athletes and includes interviews with legends Billie Jean King and Greg Louganis as well as the next generation of LGBT athletes who participated in the 2014 Olympic Games. Shooting worldwide in locations as diverse as Sochi, New York, Calgary, Toronto, St. Petersburg and Moscow, the film follows these athletes from the ice to the slopes as they bear the brunt of constant media questioning about Russia's anti-gay laws. Noam Gonick, who directed To Russia With Love, collected the Sochi footage without the consent of Russian authorities in order to protect the gay athletes who participated. Athletes featured in the film include snowboarders Belle Brockhoff and Simona Meiler, speed skaters Anastasia Bucsis and Blake Skjellerup and four-time gold medal-winning hockey player Charline Labonte as well as such notable sports personalities as Calgary Flames president of hockey operations and USA Hockey personnel director Brian Burke, Olympic gold medalist swimmer Mark Tewksbury and Russian Open Games' Konstantin Yablotskiy and Elvina Yuvakaeva. To Russia With Love also features interviews and commentary from David Remnick, editor-in-chief of The New Yorker; actor and activist Stephen Fry and the Brooklyn Nets' Jason Collins, who became the first openly gay athlete in a major sport. "As gay athletes' fight for equality continues to gain momentum, EPIX is proud to provide a platform for this important global conversation," EPIX president and CEO Mark Greenberg said. - Howard Gertler, an Oscar-nominated documentary producer for How to Survive a Plague, produced alongside Elle Flanders. Michalchyshyn and Weir are executive producers, and Laina Cohn is a co-producer. Ross Bernard and Jill Burkhart are executive producing for EPIX. Jennifer P. Honn is editing the film. This whole thing about Adam's tardiness...I just checked back on the concert thread for Vegas (p. 2) and there was a post at about 5:50 pm of Adam arriving at the venue. Unless he leaves after the sound check and returns later ready for the show? All that being said, he seems to usually be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be. Seems like the delayed show starts for this tour might be more because of getting the audience into the arenas rather than Adam being late. (Sorry I sound a little defensive of Adam here! This whole lateness meme makes him sound like Axl Rose sometimes!) ETA: I do see that on Sunday he arrived after 7:30. So they must have been discussing Sunday rather than Saturday. Still, the show started pretty much on time! The band (including Adam) were ready to go on on-time for both Vegas concerts. The venue could not get all the people in on time. The head of security for the Sunday night concert told me this personally. *** I believe the same thing happened for the other later starting shows. The only exception is Chicago where they delayed the start because they could not get the sound right during sound check. They were still working on the sound check at 7:45PM -- and Adam was on stage singing. (I could hear him, but not see him.) *** Also, a Freddie fan who was in the lobby with me, listening to the soundcheck, said Adam did not sound like Freddie. I assured him that Adam did not sound like Freddie but that he was quite good, and bet him he would love the show. He found me after the concert and told me I won the bet.
