NGL, I'm having difficulty with the negativity over the MV. I sometimes think that Adam's fans have expectations for him that are unreachable. I have come to the conclusion that Adam will never please all his fans with any choice he makes so he should just do whatever the hell he likes. You know that we greedy glamberts are always going to be disappointed in something that doesn't have smell-a-vision, lick-activated screens and Adam laid out in a thong holding his...microphone!

Yes, I was saying that, I guess because most of his videos featured parties with professional dancers, so I had a IIHY deja-vu that depressed me so much it did not let me look deeper like you did. Of course your interpretation is totally valid. Esp. at 30% speed, it feels very different My interpretation is similar to rihannsu. It's not a dance party. All the dancers all memories of past relationships. They are members of the community of the GhostTown that is his heart. I can agree with that interpretation. But at the same time I don't feel the direction or editing help the viewer discover the deeper meanings (it somewhat helps watching at 30% speed though). While sometimes a pomegranate is just that, the hints at who these members of the community are (except for the fantastic multi-faced mask) are lacking for me. Some parts feel borderline lazy. For example, in some shots you can see not only the screens they were shot against, but the room beyond the screens. I am sure someone here will find a deeper meaning for that, but my brain (with background in movie visual effects) just cries out at the sight of it. It collides with the amazing clean mirror floor shots that are dreamy, and I totally adore what they did with the mixing of frames around 1:28 - that blur of moving bodies is fantastic! Now that I think about it, I am also a bit upset there were months worth of teasing with flames on Instagram, the song gives the director the line "walked into the flames, called up your name" which is totally Orpheic, he gets a singer with "Musica Delenit Bestiam Feram" tattooed on his arm (totally Orpheic), and he fails to embrace that visually. Does the smoke in the opening count? I don't know. The TG lyrics are full of awesome material to create visual cues that are not literal, and except for the "ghost", "town" (totally literally taken), "vampires" (the blend shot of Adam biting his own neck), and Elvis (dead but reborn with an even better voice) there is not much else I can find so far... Hope to get proven wrong again.

a thought re the speed of the MV: if you were a person who had spend millions of hours playing video games of all sorts, do you think the speed would be bothering you? cause I think it would not bother you at all! You would've been able to capture every little detail from the first view and you wouldn't have any need in a slow motion version. so, for the whole generation of young males and some young females - the speed is perfect IMO... same goes for the seizure inducing light and brightness changes...

Well, I hope those who are underwhelmed with the video will still give it lots of hits. You don't have to watch it. Only 587 views so far. that's not right. You can see that there are over 2,000 thumbs up, so there must be AT LEAST over 2K views. Youtube hasn't updated the counting in real time. Thanks! You made me feel better.

Krypto and soonish, to me the "unfinished" look of the white backdrop/green screen is somehow connecting to the essence of "Hollywood", where everything is an illusion with nothing more than that white sheet of emptiness in its essence... (haha...another dozen views and I'll see something else probably...revelations for everyone...fun to share here!) THANK YOU! I was just complaining about those green screens in another post, and mentioned I would hope someone would find a meaning behind those screens. You totally did!

I think you are absolutely right about that! I'm still whining about how much faster the screens are changing on the MSN home page than they used to. It's very distracting to me, but those much younger than I were probably bored with the old, slower speed.
