Sneaking this in...not for discussion but just as information and opinion. Posner, Jonas and Lovato performed in town last night. The newspaper critic's thoughts lead me to still be OK that Adam had to pull together his own TOH Tour, after negotiations halted with Lovato as she was supposedly having difficulty working out a plan for Adam opening for her. Taking what the critic said about the concert last night. He thought the two were sadly stuck in the middle of their past and present personas. It was not all bad...but Well...Adam's TOH concerts were: long enough, with amazing visuals, a stage show, energetic and lively, good/awesome sound, had sparkle, had someone on the stage with him---dancers/singers, incredible band not submerged at the back of the stage, and the performers not aloof. Adam is not: a static performer, with a entirely forced and forgettable show, with a muddied sound board for all performers. Would Adam's fate have been similar to Posner's (opening act) getting a positive critique but performed to "an almost painfully empty crowd" even though the critic felt his persona and material should fill the room(arena). And Posner is at least on the radio here...Adam is rarely ever played--- except in grocery store music, as per yesterday during my shopping trip at Sobey's---WWFM!!! Wow. 8k in Edmonton and 7k in Calgary. Less than half full. And to clarify...the opener obviously had way fewer in the stands than for the headliners. The critic had to give Posner credit for literally going out prior to his stage performance... "standing on the penalty box boards , inciting the crowd to get on its feet and make some noise before he eventually took the stage and launched into Please Don't Go." ( how ironic )
Now that is something I have never seen an artist do. Hopefully Adam would never feel the need to do something like that...but HUGE KUDOS to Posner for having the HUMILITY to put himself out there like that. Adam has been careful with the modest size of the venues for his tours. That in itself creates that packed in energy, quality on a budget, boding very well for the "optics" of his tours.

He would not have been in Posner's opener position as he would have been in the co-headling position. So he would have played to the 7-8k not the empty house ..... Apples and oranges.

I doubt it...whoever goes first is an opener, doesn't matter how you call it, and I am sure his set would've been shorter than we had, most prob. an hour max! I guess I am so happy he avoided this whole endeavor that all I see are the positives and no negatives... </img>

Hmmm...Because of the thread discussions I came to the supposition that Adam would perform first. Optics are what they are. In the US there may have been a more of a co headlining concept in terms of fan base as he has been played on the radio. He did not chose to do ONE Canadian stop for touring since GNT. The last songs played regularly on the radio around here were 5 years ago, with WWFM and IIHY. His visibilty is pretty much the odd appearance on Idol, Glee, an awards show presenter etc . Kim (Atoper) has heard a few GT's played. I am a good fan and have heard maybe 2 GT on a rural station, and once on Ryan Seacrest's show. My neice heard CLYG on Sirius once, and they do play Adam. Now the QAL CONCERTS here in our province would have given him some exposure...but the demographics attending QAL I doubt would be a "strong" alignment with Demi Lovato. So yes, he may have picked up some new fans but how many hundreds of Glamberts would have travelled to our country, when Lovato et al were touring across the US. We would most likely be picking up some die hard fans who travel, but would be relying pretty much on our own population to fill the arena. Demi is constantly on the radio as are Joe and Posner. I am. Just fine that this tour with Demi did not happen.

Adam would have been in the main part of the show, as Nick is. Either as a main opener or part of a "co" tour. I have actually been tracking their sales for the tour & it has been doing quite well in the US venues. I knew the Canadian ones were not though. The shows we have #s for have been at 96% sold, 82%, 100%, 85%. Mohegan Sun was the 100% sold out. As usual, the box scores are slow and incomplete coming in. Wish venues and promoters would report all stats. We got hardly any from TOH Tour!

I think it's in regards to yesterday's VMAs...I didn't watch so IDK for sure... #ALAlwayz @alalwayz Double Standard Much? #ThereISaidIt Haha, yeah I was watching that yesterday. And saw that, and was like ok Ariana your hot and all. But I expect some backlash here. But nothing. Same thing happened at the 2013 VMAS. When Miley shoved her you know what in Thickes Crutch. Nothing. Adam does it at the Ama's in 2009. And you would think he commited murder. SO yeah Adam forced a double standard in the music industry, and tbh generally in the States. Adams influence in contemporary music since 09, has been so deep. He imo even influenced the pop funk wave in 2013, in 2012 with Trespassing. Adam has been the unspoken megastar of this generation. And at some point the whole world is going to jump on board. I guess America has no problem with LGBT people on tv, who happen to be sexually overt. But god forbid it is an actual real person. I mean don't have a problem with sexually agressive young women. But a gay man? Forget about it.

Is there a link to this review/article that I am missing? I posted third from the bottom on page 3. I was tongue in cheek commenting on the positive performance style of TOH tour compared to the write up in our local paper on the Lovato/Jonas concert. Posner got good accolades from the critic yet sadly a small crowd for him as the opener etc etc.. I was glad Adam was not involved with the tour as Canada has a poor to almost non-existent Adam presence on the radio, etc etc. Here is the link to the newspaper article: calgaryherald.com/entertainment/music/review-demi-lovato-and-nick-jonas-show-they-still-have-work-to-do-in-the-future
