Who ever is in the evening shift in Ilta-Sanomat (it's now 23:26 here) sure went the easiest route! "Adam Lambert: I won't marry Sauli". That isn't even a straight quote!
Okay, so whatever, but what I don't like in that news coverage is that Ilta-Sanomat is Sauli's employer. Now one evening shift reporter's stupid article makes it looks like the whole publication would be stabbing their employee in the back.

Cheeks sums it up perfectly about everyone having the RIGHT to marry if they so choose and talks about apathy in the gay community. ^^^ This! ITA! I love cheeks. ;D |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY feelalive!!!!! Have a fun day.. Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. This was the first year that I didn't have my beautiful Mother calling to wish me a Happy Birthday. She would always try to be the first. So the last 2 years she called a 12:01. My Mother died this past October after fighting leukemia for 3 years. Coming here and seeing all the wishes feels really great. For my birthday, I want to propose a toast. So lift your glasses with mine in celebration of this warm, caring, intellectual, idea sharing, informative, and yes shallow end enjoying community of people. All here to be a fan of an incredible human being who, even though I am (a little bit) older than, I learn from his bravery, honesty, and wonderful spirit everyday. I feel like AMW in tha it has been a birthday weekend filled with many wonderful Adam gifts that keep on coming. (yes thanks for all the videos and pictures ) Outlaws Of Love - OMG can't stop listening to it! Well instead of just a birthday or birthday week as my husband nieces and nephews called it, I think I will have a great birthday month this year, It is Awesome Adam Month as someone called it prviously. My two cents:
• Do NOT take Us Weekly's interpretation of this conversation as gospel. It's their job to be provocative and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they ~accidentallied some qualifiers off the conversation.
• Adam has rarely been definitive like this about anything. He almost never says never, so why would he now when he's crazy in love? He has always left an open-door on issues such as these, even when he was completely single.
• I think the lead of the piece belied the questioning they MAY have been going on: "What celebs might by flocking to NY to get married?" Adam quickly shut them down that it's not what he's there for. Maybe he should have phrased it a little less bluntly (if that is indeed what he said – again, BIG IF).
• Not a big deal; he ends up in a new news cycle and even if he said it and meant it (which I rather doubt), he could change his mind tomorrow. It's his prerogative.

Honestly, I've been finding the "marriage" talk as it applies to Adam quite disturbing... I feel like it is a projection of someone else's ideals , goals... I applaud him for the answer he gave. Aside from "feelings", it is hard to find any reason for him to want to be married (obviously I have no idea)... I am projecting my own attitude here - I feel that a marriage is more likely than not to end in a divorce and as such is a "dangerous" enterprise for any celebrity to be engaged in... he is too young anyway, he needs to be free IMO... Same for Sauli or anyone else who might be in Adam's future... Why to be entangled in all kinds of legalities? What is it that they would "gain" from being married? Sauil's immigration status? - not a good reason at all IMHO... I am for ADAM in a free and loving relationship! Nica, I agree with you 100% Regarding ALFC; I intend to renew, but I'm waiting to see if they will come up with an upgraded membership package. At least they've gotten enough feedback to do something classy & stylish, maybe some cool fashion or jewelry pieces; something Adam would wear? Can't wait what they will come up with. ;D 8-) |

Well I think this does it for Adam's honesty.. There will be many more's, I'm not discussing this or that & who can blame him. Firstly he is misquoted often and now look how the Finnish paper is covering his remark. They really do want Adam for a son-in-law. IMHO,Adam's remark wasn't meant as a personal insult to Sauli or the Finns.
Yes I see a tweet coming sometime soon from Adam.
Did we ever think we would see the day that Gay people would be pressured to get married.. what a turn of events.

ITA!! Im hoping that with each generation this will happen more and more. I know in my daughters circle of friends that a person's sexual perferance is not an issue, it is just part of who they are. But at the Idol concert this year, I was sitting next to a woman and her 19 - 20 year old daughter. The daughter was telling me some of her favorites from previous years. The first one she mentioned was Adam and how much she likes him. Then her next statement was "Too bad he turned out to be gay". I asked her why she thought that way because I feel that Adam is an incredible person and being gay is a part of who he is. I went on to mention that Adam has an exceptional talent and we are so fortunate that he will be sharing with us with amazing music to come from his next album. There has been other singers like Elton John or Melissa Etheridge who also gave us great music who happened to be gay Or others like Beyonce or the beatles (her choice) who happened to be straight. This is their talent and gift that they are sharing with the world. Her mother agreed with me. So hopefully that was food for thought for her. I also asked if she had seen Adam in concert since Idol? She said no. I told her to look up interviews and performances on You tube, that she was in for an enjoyable, enlightening and fun experience. I mentioned that Adam was my all time favorite for so many reasons and will always be. ITA Susie! Go, Feelalive & have a great birthday! |
