Okay, a little late to the party today, but it is almost impossible for me to pick favorites. However, I have a few songs that just affect me whenever I hear them:
1) "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd
2) "Let the River Run" by Carly Simon (theme from Working Girl)
3) "Skyline Pidgeon" by Elton John (really, really old Elton John --I want this song played at my funeral -- it's simple but haunting)
4) "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen (I used to sing the entire middle section for fun...well, I still do occasionally...and since I am a soprano, I even do Roger Taylor's really high notes)
5) "Ordinary Day" by Duran Duran -- another haunting but lovely song
6) "Feeling Good" sung by Adam Lambert -- such an amazing song and I love standards so had to add it. Adam really does this song justice.
I think all of these songs have an emotional content that I love...and I could have chosen a few more as well. On any other day, Paul McCartney's "Live and Let Die" would have replaced one of the above. Or..........Talking Heads, the Eurythmics, U2, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Leonard Cohen, any of about 50 standards, etc.
I love so many of the songs that have already been listed -- as a musician I just love too much stuff!

glittergmaSo sorry to hear about your news. I guess my worst time was my divorce. I wouldn't want to go through that again, but I'm much happier now. Thanks, hon... Been there, done that with the divorce...about 37 years ago. It sucks, but I survived then, and I'll survive now. I never remarried, was too busy raising my sons. My ex did, 2 more times, both ended in divorce too. Made me feel much betterer about that!!! LOL!! (except for the part where they (the other 2 ex's) got much more out of their divorce as far as $$ goes...lmao! Oh well, I got my 2 sons...that's the major part for me. Love and appreciate all the time you spend bringing us Adam concerts & timelines!! You rock!!!! Hugs!!!

Ok, going to try to embed a youtube. Wish me luck!! LOL! One of my favorite bands from the 70s. Firefall!! Most of you probably haven't heard of them, but they were from Colorado and I totally loved them!! I had the album, but it and many more got lost when my house flooded. :( I had an old Elton John album that I dearly loved. Don't remember the name of it, but it had *Will you still love me when I'm 64* on it. I think that was the name of it. Think it was just titled Elton John, but not sure. Anyways, going to try to do this. There are two that I love from Firefall. *Just Remember I Love You* and *Strange Way*. Well, there are more, but not going to put them all on here. I really, really love all their other songs, but ..... LOL! I know I can't even begin to just think of 5 songs that are my favs, cause there are way too many....shhhhhhhhhh (I'mreallyoldhehehe) And, I hear new stuff everyday that I love...some new, some old. But, I am amazed that, when I listen to the oldies that I have always loved, that I actually remember all the words. edited cause the wrong song came up on there...lol! I did get lost on utube for a while there. It happens....

Well Q3 is a clever woman - we've kept ourselves occupied for hours and had a lot of fun doing it! I love the way we've all pretty much deviated from the brief and posted whatever we like! It's been great revisiting some music I've not heard in years (or at all all in some cases). I've also realised that most of my choices are oestrogen-heavy - apart from Freddie & Adam all my favourite singers are women. Got to sleep now but I don't know how I forgot Patti Smith - I love this song. Something about the beauty of the lyric against the unusual tone of her voice really gets to me.

Ever since Adam gave us this new lyric on twitter, "one day when I was trippin, that's when I could see, that the ether that I tapped into could be a reality", I can't stop hearing him in my head singing this song.
STOP LAUGHING.
