I still don't get why they had to burn the horse to make that point.
Time itself makes that point for me everyday.
Maybe they just don't have a place to stash a 5-story tall horse.
( Lol I, also, suspect that that there are a lot of pyros there anxious to burn everything in the name of whatever they can think of. Sorry in advance. Don't mean to offend anyone.)

Knocking On Heaven's Door Finnish rock group Leningrad Cowboys and Red Russian Army ChoirAnd a comment from YT: If a Finnish Rock group can get together with a Russian choir to rock out to a song by an American folk singer, can't we all find a way to get along. aurora - this is mind blowing on the bizarre scale of things... We're not going to have much of a list of 100 with 5 great songs nominated. Is the question that daunting? And I would love to hear OLL on the radio!! I think I need to move to NZ!!! And Aurora that is momtomany's Trojan Horse!! It is a hard question!! If you asked or "favorites" it would be a lot easier!! This takes time!!!

I guess we'll just have to wait and let momtomany explain it to us. Can't wait her stories about BM.

lilly - I looked at your embedding and you did the [ youtube ][ /youtube] part exactly right. I think that when you copied the URL at the top of the video you wanted to post that a couple of the last letters did not transfer. I google searched on the partial letters to get the exact video you wanted to post and here are the ones that did not copy correctly.

"So your girlfriend rolls a Honda, playing work out tapes my Fonda...well Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Honda! My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hon!"
And THAT is why Baby Got Back needs to be on this list. I will tirelessly lobby for the inclusion of this great American masterpiece of lyrical brilliance.

Oh, I see that Q3 is getting her kicks by torturing us today. Only 5 songs-- really????? Okay, here goes: Imagine- John LennonI think hands-down the most beautiful song. And in all its understatement, deeply challenging to the listener. I harshly judge anyone who sanitizes/edits the lyrics and leaves out the "imagine there's no heaven" part. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds- The BeatlesThe Beatles have a zillion great songs, but the psychedelic imagery in this song is pure poetry. Chimes of Freedom- Bob DylanTimeless and universal. Hallelujah- Leonard CohenBrilliant song, and of course credit goes to the songwriter, but it's been covered better by others. Buckley and k.d. lang's versions are amazing. Where The Streets Have No Name- U2So powerful! Hmmm, I guess for me, lyrics are paramount. One of my favorite covers of Hallelujah was when Jason Castro sang it on Idol, even thought his voice cracked on the last note.

The last two in my top 5. Feeling Good - another jazz standard. Here's the best version of it I have heard. The last may not qualify because it is obscure -- at least for now. But it is beautifully simple, performed simply and exquisitely, and the lyrics tear your soul. I'll go with cassie for my last two as well. They are quite simply just beautiful!!!!
