Adam follows Bryan Singer on IG..... at least for now. Hope he's not dragged into all this. Someone on twitter just said that he unfollowed him tonight, I didn't check though Yep he has unfollowed him.

I am not going to jump full throttle into the fray as I don't feel like defending my fan status or my right to have an opinion...and I have to rush off to a client. But I feel I would only be honest to myself if I did not comment on a couple of things. Cognitive dissonance is a very uncomfortable feeling and I suspect many of us are feeling a little of that right now. I certainly am. There is a reason the "metoo" movement took off and it is because well known, sometimes important people, were finally feeling supported enough and brave enough to come forward with their complaints and histories. The reason they did not feel supported earlier was that GOOD, CARING AND POWERFUL people sat by and did nothing...or even supported the well known abusers and predators.... as the saying goes, roughly, All it takes for evil to thrive is for good people to do nothing. When an individual is 'known' by insiders throughout an industry for being abusive then why do good people continue to hire them and support them. At what point do we finally 'believe' the victims! We know how difficult it is to "prove" a crime that is for the most part, done in private and that people are inclined to internalize. When the pay off is not money that can be proved, but acceptance and work...less easy to "prove" withheld for lack of compliance. I would never in a million years tweet or any other form of communicate my feelings to Adam or Brian. But I also really am disappointed that Bri and Roger continue to support Singer when ignorance is no longer a viable excuse for them...though given Bri's throughness and acumen in business, it is supremely unlikely that he was not aware of Singer's reputation....yet the went with him anyway. But that is all history and can be understood...but the 'innocent till proven guilty' slam for this sort of crime is unfair. If Singer gets the credit of the doubt...what do the countless victims get....'cake?'/// gotta go...running late....go ahead and beat me up now....I still adore them all, but I am a little disappointed...that is all... Thank you for you eloquent post. Completely agree with you about cognitive dissonance. I also think we know little of what is going on BTS and what people potentially can do or can't do as there is a lot of legal stuff like nda's and injunctions and such IMHO.

Lots of industry people must have known about BS's "alleged" behavior for a long time. It actually seems like it was common knowledge. I'm beginning to agree that this current tempest does have something to do with: "awards revenge" of some kind? Sour grapes? Jealousy? Oscar angst? Desperation? The blame game? All of a sudden there's a kind of a blame-game panic going on. It seems as if the lack of awards (so far) for ASIB is really bothersome to Hollywood. And BR is turning into a target. And the BS baggage the movie carries is just frosting on the cake. It is an interesting theory but the timing doesn't work. This year's Oscar ballets had to be returned by Monday, January 14. I lot of this is because of the high-profile of the Oscars and Social Media distorting reality.
That is vote ended before the social media firestorm started.
There are 8,176 eligible voting members of the Academy of Motion Arts -- believed to be heavily Americans and old and not critics. They seem unlikely to be BoRhap admirers and less likely to be Queen fans. But that does not mean it can't win. Here is a fun explanation of the process of getting to be a voter and of how something gets nominated and wins. BoBhap could win Best Picture by getting a lot of #2 votes.
I think it is really unlikely that the Academy voters will pick BoRhap for best picture -- and if it happens, it will be a first for Queen -- a major award in the U.S. Yes, I hope it wins -- just not expecting it.
The Golden Globes are not similar to the Oscars. They are voted on by the the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association -- no Americans, lots of UK, AU, NZ, Japan, etc. -- about 50 countries. The outcomes are often different.
Incorrect, that date is the deadline for the Nominations ballots. The voting window is not yet open for the final awards.
