NoAngel - wonderful important thoughts and questions! Over the two and a half years of the insane stanning I think I've self-analyzed myself to death. I even think that I have answers to all of your questions. I you don't mind - I would like to add one more (three , but they are really asking for the same type of self exploration): WHY are you here, in the depth of the crazy addiction that takes so much of your life/time/attention/mind? What "empty space" (if any) does this passion fill? Was there a "hole" in your life that got "filled" by the phenomenon that is AFL?

NoAngel -- thanks for the great essay. I have no idea how you manage to write about feelings and thought processes with such clarity. But it does make every Sunday special!!

"Maybe the lesson for me is that it doesn't matter what the title—artists, entertainers— the point is how they make you feel; how they make you think; how they challenge you. "Thank you once again, NoAngel, for another essay that challenges me and makes me think and makes me feel. You are also an artist, and every Sunday I look forward to your essays. This one hit me on a real personal level this morning. This past week has been full of highs and lows in my own life and in the lives of those close to me. My feelings have been up and down and across and over and have at times gone around and around. I have learned in my life that when my feelings go round and round, it is time to stop and think. Why does this feel challenging? What feels so scary about this? What am I afraid of? Then I can understand why I feel challenged and how I need to grow to meet those challenges. That makes me have something to do, some personal work to accomplish within myself, and that is something I can control and focus on and feel good about. Deciding to do that brings me peace, and from that place quiet strength emerges. I know you were writing about Adam, but as you said, I stan him as the real life person that I am. Paradoxically, the things I find compelling about him are rooted in my real life and are also a way to escape it when I need a break. At times, they have been transformational because they have made me feel- feel empowered, feel connected, feel engaged, feel healed, feel alive, feel inspired, feel loving, feel creative, feel compassionate, and yes, feel challenged. And all of that is good. Nile Rodgers singing WWFM on his morning walk... that just makes me feel all Sunday smiley.

Great essay, NoAngel! These are questions I want to think through. The photos posted by Gelly this morning are examples of my favorites -- sweaty, real concert photos ... pictures of Adam in performance. It really doesn't matter to me what he's wearing or how his hair is, etc. Love #realness.
nica575, your questions are great and something I have really started to think about this week for obvious reasons. Really ever since the album "delay." What I am doing "here" and why? What am I getting out of all this that is actually enhancing my life?
Another set of questions that might be very self-revealing would be how do you react to perceived threats to Adam? What do you consider a threat and why? How does it make you feel and what do you do with those feelings?

Google is my friend. www.chatslang.com/meaning/mwahugz"Mwa" refers to the sound of a kiss and "hugz" is slang for hugs. I'll use this the next time I text one of my kids. 3Q
