Listened to it and it wasn't very good anyway! 23 minutes ago Just a bit of trivia...this is the same guy who "broke" the news that Adam was going to mentor during AI Season 9. He wasn't pleased about it, either. americanidol-blog.com/is-adam-lambert-mentoring-the-idols-next-week/

Speaking of TSMGO, I posted this audio download last night. It is excellent. Been listening almost non-stop all day! t.co/2BjYDXtNOMG! Me too. The power and passion of the vocals (and all the instrumentation) are just INCREDIBLE. And by the end, you think he would have had to expend the last bit of power he could possibly have and he throws it down AGAIN!! Do we have a similar version of WWRY and WATC – just to break my auto-repeat up a bit? Loved you post, CraazyforAdam!!That Grinch photo kills me. I thought he was making one of his Zoolander faces and got carried away. I never thought it was serious, but maybe it was going by the way he responded. I still think it's funny though. God knows we've all been caught in photos making some goofy expression. Happy birthday m45maia!! LOL, I just went back to page one to find something and saw the Aaron Hicklin headline and thought, "Was that today?" Seems like a hundred years ago already. BTW, I missed some of the pages in mid-thread. Was this posted? For all the shaved-sides peeps: rudebunny.tumblr.com/post/12422955412/no-comment

No wonder the single was delayed. It would be practically impossible to spend the time & money for promo if at the same time, an unofficial singe would be offered to radios as a new single. Talk about an opportunist! But anyway. BFM either makes a small splash or no splash at all. Either way, it will be off from polluting the radios before the christmas. The single, the album and the promo won't suffer from it in 2012. (taken that the crazy judge in the case won't decide that Welsford would have a claim in Adam's newer material, too, or something ridiculous like that. /concern trolol) I do not agree and do not believe the release of B4M to radio has anything to do with the decision to not release a single until Januar. For example, RCA released FYE on top of Want which was also released to radio. Independent releases rarely get much airplay. Unofficial indie releases NEVER get any measurable airplay. B4M will get about as much airplay as "Want". _______________ There is something more going on here. I do not know what it is but it is not.... RCA needed to work out something for a global release. B4M being released to radio. It could be related to the Colwel Platinum lawsuit but it would have to be something that is not apparent in the initial filing. One reason to believe this is that Adam's PR folks are starting to work the media to build support for him. It could be that they really are not ready to release this music worldwide from a promo standpoint. That they decided to do it right this time. The UK prep promo is impressive. It could be that RCA does not know what single to release. That appears to be what Adam told the radio and media folks in the UK today. It could be about a dozen other things. I sent the Queen YT to a friend of mine who's not an AFL fan per se but appreciates the talent. She wrote back: "Great show - awful hair!!!"
I laughed till I cried.

OK, you agreed with some of it. Good. Dance music is here to stay. Check. Adele is an anomaly. Yep. Groove to Adele. Possibly. But dance. Not so much. Top 20. I like lots of it. Will they play Adam if he is funky. I think yes. I think of myself as a proto-AdamgonnarockthechartsRealist*. ;D *Proto- is a prefix. It is defined as something which indicates a precondition or an early stage of development of certain features. LOL! Maybe my comment responding to yours came out all wrong-sorry! I agree with you that Adam has a good chance of getting play on the charts. I think he is trying to appeal to pop radio, while still remaining true to the type of music he does best. It's a struggle for most artists who aren't named Katy, Bruno or Rihanna. Kelly had to popify her singles more towards dance music. Daughtry, Cook and the rest of the WGWGs are SOL! They are destined to be HAC artists. Maroon 5 is now doing dancey sounding music and collabs with hip hop guys. Even Coldplay has a collab with Rihanna. Adam will have the same type of issues that a lot of other very talented artists are having to work around. They have to figure out a way to adapt their music so that radio stations will want to play it. I am sure Adam and his label both know this and are making sure he has plenty of radio-friendly singles on his album.

Cassie, you are saying everything I was thinking. About the DDD nonsense, as well as in your earlier post about vibrato, allowing the strain to the voice because you know it is a one-off performance with a very specific intent, the whole topic of having control over the breathing....you said it all. (Was that one note a B2 though and not a B3? TSMGO goes pretty far down and B3 - D5 would only be 1.5 octaves, me thinks.. :-/). But anyhow - I think you meant that actually...so not disagreeing with what you are saying at all, may be just a typo...or I am confused, that is also possible).
Adam has given us this kind of vibrato before, i.e. during idol in WWL, at the end, when he tries to go for maximum resonance. He knows when and where to use it and he totally knows that this sound cannot be sustained, nor does it need to. That is one of the things that Freddie and Adam have in common: They both have a huge arsenal of interpretive tools available to them and they both use a variety of vocal styles even within the same song to enhance their lyrics. My impression was always that Freddie's voice sits about 2-3 keys lower than Adams (both upper and lower end) and their voices sound in many ways quite different, but both artists have voices that not only tell a story, but also have a massive presence.
I agree that Adam in many ways has a technical superiority over Freddie, who we know was not really vocally trained, but I have to say, Freddie has a few stylistic elements that are raw and gritty and that I love from him and when he lets his baritone shine, I love that too. Loved when he played the piano. No dissing of Freddie from me. Have a hard time reading some of the more gloating comments of some Glamberts out in the fandom or on other blogs that smack more of ignorance. Adam is different than Freddie, but he can stand besides him and hold his own and that is huge! And in the UK there are enough people who understand that and realize what an accomplishment that is and what a talent they are therefore having in front of them. Good. Took them long enough to figure it out.
There are multiple ways to do something right and the great masters all have individuality as one of their most significant trademarks. And Adam has that. Big-time.
Earlier, I noticed a few voices saying that Adam may lose the attention of casual fans when he takes his time, etc. and that only people with an existing great career can afford longer breaks.
Adam has a very high recognition factor. What that means, is when you ask 100 people in the streets (US) and show them a picture of Adam, how many people can identify him correctly. Out of all American Idols, I think only Carrie U. would score as high as Adam. Kelly C. probably scores high with old pictures from 10 years ago, but probably goes widely unrecognized today. I don't think there is anyone close to Adam in this otherwise. And even beyond the US, I think there are already quite a few countries where he would be instantaneously recognized. That is a quality that no marketing campaign can buy for you.
All really great entertainers have that, they have a look that sets them apart. And Adam had to create that look. He was not born with it. The red-head, freckle face, apple-pie-Adam did not have a look that stood out, but today he does have it and it helps him garner immediate attention wherever he goes and whenever he is ready to go on with his show. It is not only about how many albums you have sold in the past, it is how quickly you can get attention back. And in recognition level Adam can hold his own with the big league any day. I am absolutely unconcerned about the extra time needed, just like most of you were.
But I now understand Eber's message to Adam which had us all stumped at the time. Eber was tweeting in August and I am paraphrasing: Follow your instincts and push for what needs to be done.....perhaps somebody has the exact quote. Actually I think it was two tweets...not sure??
At the time we were wondering why an album that was almost complete (so we thought) would trigger such advice and whether Adam had to fight to get his way with his label. Little did we know that Adam was faced with a late decision to change course once more and invariably delay the album or to just keep finishing with what he already had. What a decision! But intuitively, I'd say I am glad he chose to do what he did. Thank you Pharrell. I can wait.

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm just thinking that the listening parties that Adam had early this morning with all these print and media people. Anyone thinking that it was also to have him appear in these magazines as well? Well I don't' mean just appear, as in a blurb or something like that, but I mean in a featured article like the RS, Out, Advocate etc. magazines were. Or are these people he was meeting from just regular media, like a newspaper or something, and not real magazines?
