[evil grin] Well, sometimes when you love something SO MUCH, you just want to "make it part of you". Yep. That's exactly it. You have to internalize it. Literally. Very close to going to bed, but I just wanted to LOL at this entire conversation. I LOVE the idea that she ATE the book! )

Hmmmm.....my mind just flashed down completely inappropriate paths.
Gonna smooch the hubby, check on our resultant kidlet ;-) ...and then run to buy milk before the store closes!

All of which is neither here nor there cause I'm certain Dadbert is just joking about something or other and despite my above claim I, like tigerlily can't imagine Adam's singing Xmas music... Unless it would be a gesture to Sauli and/or his family while he is in Finland... Oh, now you're just gonna make me sad that we'll never get vid of Adam singing at a Koskinen family gathering, just like we never got vid of Adam singing at Brooke's wedding... Re the Xmas song "debate," I'm also an atheist who loves many Christmas songs. Little Drummer Boy NEVER fails to make me cry! And O Holy Night is incredible when sung by someone who does credit to those notes. I think Adam has been pretty clear that it's a no-go for him, but if he ever changed his mind, I wouldn't judge him for it. And of course I would BUY a copy of that CD right away!

If Adam is going to sing a Christmas song -- I would love him to sing ----
"All I Want for Christmas Is You"
I don't want a lot for Christmas There's just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is... You
I don't want a lot for Christmas There's just one thing I need I don't care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree I don't need to hang my stocking There upon the fireplace Santa Claus won't make me happy With a toy on Christmas day I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you You baby
I won't ask for much this Christmas I don't even wish for snow I'm just gonna keep on waiting Underneath the mistletoe I won't make a list and send it To the North Pole for Saint Nick I won't even stay awake to Hear those magic reindeers click 'Cause I just want you here tonight Holding on to me so tight What more can I do Baby all I want for Christmas is you Ooh baby All the lights are shining So brightly everywhere And the sound of children's Laughter fills the air And everyone is singing I hear those sleigh bells ringing Santa won't you bring me the one I really need Won't you please bring my baby to me...
Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas This is all I'm asking for I just want to see my baby Standing right outside my door Oh I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true Baby all I want for Christmas is... You
All I want for Christmas is you... baby (repeat and fade)

I LOVE hardcover books, but I also love being able to read books on my iPad, and as time goes on, I am reading more and more of them digitally. I never thought I would like reading books electronically, but I now don't notice any difference in my reading pleasure.
The iPad makes it so easy for me to take lots of books with me when I travel without having to carry them all. When I want a book, I can immediately get one to read, no matter what time of day it may be. I also love being able to prop the iPad wherever I want it and not have to hold the book. This has been much better for my neck. (I had disc surgeryon it awhile back, and the iPad makes a big difference in my ability to read without hurting my neck.). I also like the way I can enlarge the font and adjust the lighting on my iPad for easy viewing.
I love my hard cover books, and sometimes pull out one to re-read from time to time, but reading books on my iPad has solved so many problems for me, and I enjoy my reading experience every bit as much.

A Kindle makes everything....the same. Oh Hoppers, books are wonderful ... but someday when your eyes can no longer focus on the small print, you will be grateful for something like an iPad that lets you read once again. And while the original Kindle may have made everything seem the same, the new Kindle Fire, iPads, and many other devices can have beautiful illustrations and animations as well. My eyes and I are grateful for the new technologies that are allowing me to read for pleasure again.

My family celebrates Christmas all together with a huge Chirstmas Eve dinner and get together. We never, and I mean never, sing Christmas carols! So, assuming the Koskinen's are going to be sittting around singing Christmas songs is, I dunno, a little weird to me! :-/ We need to ask Miachichu about this!

There are many Christmas songs thta have nothing to do with Christmas. they are like "winter carols." "Baby it's cold outside" for one! But.. have you READ the lyrics? C'mon baby I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so deliciousMy brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look deliciousWell maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard beforeI've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there Say, lend me your comb - It's up to your knees out thereYou've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died I really can't stay - Get over that old out Ahh, but it's cold outside Baby it's cold outside Brr its cold... It's cold out there Cant you stay awhile longer baby Well... I really shouldn't... alright Make it worth your while baby Ahh, do that again..Confession Time: Every Christmas I search the channels to find WHITE CHRISTMAS, my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I'm such a sap.

Is it the line " I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum.... " that gets you? That and the end of It's a Wonderful Life... bawling like a baby every year like clockwork. Curious though, who sings the classic version? Last year I tried to find the version I used to hear on the radio and couldn't. None of the others sang that line with the same passion. Some were close with the boys chorus and sounded similar but it drove me crazy trying to find it on youtube with no luck. ~Sappy agnostic
