The whole show must create a big pressure on everyone. I like Casey Abrams - he is an Adam fan and said his favourite AI performance was Adams ROF - big points in my book. Perhaps Adam can share some of his experiences and give them some really help ful hints.

The problem I have with James comment to Hollywood Gossip is that HE is the one that invoked Adam's name! HE is the one who chose to sing ACIGC with Adam's lyric change! Did anyone besides me notice that he used the phrase "we are different stylistically" like Adam did in his tweet about James? Ah.. why no I didn;t miss that either... LOL.. NVM.. I am not going to comment on this anymore.. we'll see how it goes..

www.tvguide.com/News/Idol-Top-13-1030338.aspxJames Durbin is over the Adam Lambert comparisons: "I'm kind of tired of answering that question. We're completely different people stylistically, tone-wise. The only similarity that we have is the high note. ... He put his foot in the door; I want to try and put my foot straight through the door. He did some rock, I liked it. I want to do some metal like Iron Maiden, ACDC, Ozzy, Sabbath." Just what will he do when he gets the same question another 100 times.. patience is a virtue.. js. So there is actually a bar called "fubar" Why wouldn't Adam be at the Idol party.. there were far odder attendees there.. Would have made more sense for Adam to be there.. I agree with everything everyone has said, but I also think James is young, artless, has had a rough life, and doesn't have the social skills needed to be more in control of what image he projects of himself or to even hear what he sounds like. I'm rolling my eyes at him, but I'm also cutting him some slack, at least at this point. Separate from the whole Adam thing, I'm not sure he has the emotional depth to handle what's about to happen next. But if Idol is serious about working with this year's contestants to be ready to be whole package performers, maybe someone will mentor all of them on this sort of thing. I hate it when you are compassionate and sensible. It takes all the fun out of bitching... which I reserve for ATOP, mostly. Now you will force me to be hostile to people in real life.

I think Adam did bring up Gaga all by himself when he was asked how he felt when he was called "theatrical" (I will look). But, who cares if he did or the interviewer did? And who knows if Durbin or an interviewer FIRST brought up Adam? Both were inevitable comparisons anyway.
I know Adam said he thought to himself, 'Well, isn't that what's going on in pop today with Lady Gaga and others?' There was nothing wrong about him doing that, and I see nothing wrong with Durbin doing whatever he did.
Durbin said Adam's rock performances contributed to Durbin thinking that AI might be a platform for him, too. And that he liked them.

Ok, Imma speak my 2 cents.
Now I am not a fan of James at all, and yes I give him a good natured ribbing as I do most contestants on Idol, and yeah maybe he brought upon comparisons to Adam by being a rock guy (which is not his fault) or singing ACIGC (Adam doesn't own the song) but so what.
Obviously James is a fan or at the very least aspires to do what Adam did on the show, and that's not a bad thing in the slightest. Who wouldn't want to make a big impact when going after your dream? He may not be your cuppa but at least he is trying to do his own thing--metal schtick, which he is pretty decent at if we are gonna be totally honest here--and at least he isn't middle of the road bland.
I don't think any intentional/unintentional comparisons should inspire hate. Maybe a good eye roll or two but that's it, because it's not that deep. I am pretty sure, even though I joke that he is Schmadam Schmambert, that he is not trying to single white male anyone here LOL.
Not saying you guys are being unecessarily nasty, not at all, but I know that some will be and that is unfortunate.
In the end just let the boy be who he is and sing his songs and if ya don't like it that's fine. He's really not hurting anyone.
Ok. That's it. LOL.
BUT IF HE COMES OUT TO SING MAD WORLD ON A CHAIR WITH HIS NETHER REGIONS LIT FROM BELOW THEN IT IS ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, dear lord, not compassionate and sensible! You'll ruin my reputation. I'm almost sorry for the people you now feel compelled to be hostile to. Adam just makes me very zen. Not harshing my mellow over these little upstarts...
