Someone posted this interview yesterday (NoAngel, I think) and I bookmarked it but didn't watch it until now. It's 24 minutes long. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, right when FYE was coming out, but it is soooo good. 24 minutes of Adam talking is beyond sexy! v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTM1NzIzMjI4.htmlThis interview was part of the itunes FYE deluxe lp

He is so sexy when he talks. I could watch him talk forever. Watching him sit, talk, and listen, at the Rock Star Social Media Summit was almost as good as a concert! : Weird, huh?

Anybody know is Adam being paid to perform on Idol ? I believe he does get paid. It's a union requirement. It's a DOL (Dept of Labor) requirement, not a union requirement. The union may set the scale but the fact that there must be compensation is due to labor laws. If it were a union requirement, then only people in the union would get paid.

I also LOVED that interview. He was so clear, present, confident and certain of what he was trying to do. I've bookmarking and sending to any rock dude that doesn't think he's paid his dues or knows his shit. It's all right there!!

Hmmm, but entertainers work for just the exposure all the time and get no compensation. How does that work? (I'm not being snarky here. Just curious.) ETA: However, I'm sure Adam is getting paid a lot for Idol!

Quote: "I think the discussion of James Durbin has gone far enough. Topic closed. If there is more Adam news that involves James Durbin -- post away. But James money situation, vocal comparisons, style, etc. That horse is dead.
If you want to comment on James or anyone from AI10, post in the AI10 Thread in the Members-only section. But not in... Adam News. This thread is owned by AFL" Q3
I always respect discussions on this thread and differences of opinion. But there is something about AI that seems to strike a very sensitive nerve as far as Adam is concerned. The thread changed from sparkly and squeeeeing over Adam's appearance next week to a dark and spikey JD mess. I haven't been a member long but am not skeered to voice an opinion. I would like to see future discussions about contestants posted on the AI thread too. I know I am walking a thin line because some of this does relate to Adam. So I said my peace and know that scrolling is my best friend. Just had to get this off my chest for tonite. Thanks for listening! :D

The union may set the scale but the fact that there must be compensation is due to labor laws. If it were a union requirement, then only people in the union would get paid. Can we split a few more hairs? Of course the DOL requires payment; I know the GOP has run amok, but they haven't relegated us to the salt mines YET. Yes, the union sets the scale, and I that's what we're talking about because if Adam is making no more than minimum wage, that is something to talk about. ETA: I just saw MyS*&@^#r's post. Some artists do waive their fee; it's their prerogative. Performers at the Super Bowl halftime show do not get paid. They make their money back on exposure. However, I'm sure that is a discussion right out of the gate. Producer: Before you sign, BEPs, we have to tell you, this is an unpaid gig, are you okay with that? Yes/No Talent: Yes, we are fine with that; there are 40+ bazillion people watching, it will all come out in the wash. We officially waive our fee. However, from what I've ever heard, this privilege is not often abused. It's far easier to just pay union scale then deal with any of the other bullshit.
