Chokehold sounds like it was created to bring out the alluring nuances of Adam's vocal capabilities..I am eager to hear the recorded version of this song... Adam is looking more and more distinct and captivating ...like a movie star... Matinee Dreams |

WOW what a day. --- Sound like Adam almost confirmed Cuckoo in the USA Today quotes: "On the three new songs he performed Thursday in Atlanta: "Wait till you hear the tracks. Adam said "nutbag" - that's so funny. I've always heard "nutbar."  Funny, I have never heard NUTBAR only NUTBAG (good old Canadianism) But for a young man to say it..." is rather funny". Around my neck of the woods...useage of the word "nutgbag" is an age thing. I have never heard a young person say it, only the old kind that really would be wearing wires to hold their dentures in!!satisfied...very funny line!!! and I obviously took liberty with it. |

OMG I had to go out this evening and left off around p.28 on yesterday's thread and came back to see 49 pages and I'm like WTF WTF and started reading fast and Irish is delirious and can no longer spell and peeps are weeping cause strangers are getting to hear NEW STUFF when we can't, and mayumi has some guy in a chokehold over a towel... no, wait... Adam sang Chokehold, and Hoppers is shouting that she got a M&G and reihmer is posting pistol pics and everyone is out-of-control flailing and Adam's wearing Chandler Bing's vest and our ninja vid-taker is driving through epic thunderstorms and fires and pestilence in order to upload Cuckoo... AND OMG OMG I LOVE CUCKOO!!!!! IT'S SO DANCEABLE AND FUN AND ADAM IS SO UNFFIE WHEN HE SINGS IT.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  OK, I know I'm way behind the times. But I love you, seoulmate!! |

Damn, I was gone most of the day, have sooooo much to catch up on! I got home and immediately typed out this long story about talking to a DJ at 99.7 in KC this afternoon while I was out, and accidentally deleted the whole thing. Too tired to re-do it right now, but bottom line: "WE HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS KIND OF RESPONSE TO A PERFORMER COMING HERE BEFORE--EVER."She talked for 4:45 and just RAVED about Adam--I have to share the story with you guys, so will re-type it tomorrow. (I've used up my hands for the day.  ) I am going to try to catch up a little before I crash, but first THANK YOU FOR THOSE VIDS FROM LAST NIGHT MISHA! I love those 3 songs more and more in direct proportion to how many times I listen to them! ;D And LINDAG23, I PM'd you a BM tweet. They moved SXSW Burner meeting tomorrow because of the weather! Don't get wet, BB!  We hear that same phrase over and over again from DJs and journalists. "Never had this kind of response before!" So why doesn't radio play the damned songs??!!! |

Wow, I'm so late catching up. RL is mean to kick in hard when I need time to bert! But I just have to go on record to say how much I LOVEEEEEEE both Cuckoo and Chokehold!!!!!!!! OMG I can't even stand it! The chorus of Cuckoo is addictive and the whole song is so much fun and I can't wait to hear the produced version because I think it is going to kick ass! As for Chokehold, it's taken a hold of me and won't let go. It's embarrassing how many times I've listened to it and I can't stop. It's moody and angsty in the best possible way, and the lyrics are really interesting and evocative. The song gets me in my gut and if this is indicative of the "dark side" of the album I am going to be deliriously happy. Trespassing is my least fav of the 3 new songs, even though I like it. Will be interested to hear the album version, because I love the lyrics. Maybe it'll be like FYE the song, where it takes him a while to nail the live version, idk. Anyway, I'm ridiculously happy and SOOOOOOOOOOO optimistic more than ever before about the album. Why they went with BTIKM is a head-scratcher, but whatever. I'm just thrilled we have such delicious goodies coming our way, as soon as Maypril gets here. Hey, at least some of us get to skip over an hour this Sunday when we go into Daylight Savings Time. One hour less of waiting!!!!!!!!!!!  ;D |

I find it interesting that, while Adam is not as big as a lot of some these other big time stars, that he seems to get such a bigger fan response then them, well at least according to these djs. Awww Hoopla, can't wait to hear your story. And Fanoftheman, I agree with your comments about Kevin. I like Tommy a lot, but I really appreciate something about Kevin. I think it's a maturity of musicianship... or something like that. I've been listening to the new songs today and I think all three are great. I love the Queenesque vibe of Trespassing; I think Cookoo really needs it's studio production behind it for us to grasp it's craziness, and I feel it in my bones that Chokehold is going to give me that emotional jolt I love from some of Adam's songs. I love reading everyone's opinions on the new songs. Just when I've made up my mind about how I feel about a song, it's production, how Adam sings it, etc., I read comments here that often open my mind to consider another angle, take another listen, or another look (looking twice/thrice, etc. at the vest and it's still not making my top 10 100 list of Adam ensembles  ). What I love the most though is it's NEWWWWWWW music. And from the bits I've heard so far, it's smart, sophisticated, fun, funky, creative and current. I can't wait to hear more. LOVING the vocal awesomness!! :D Cheers everyone! |
