It has to do wth the resonance of the instrument. So, perhaps you like Tommy's guitar better. ? Thanks ...that is what a few of us said...it may just be the sound that the guitars produce. I like TJ's guitar "SOUND" better. I went back and listened to the Houston vid vesus today's vid etc etc and compared. That is what my ears were telling me. BTW... When Dj's say , how awesome the fan support is for these events... I was wondering if Rhianna, Katy, Bruno etc. do these radio promos????I didn't look at the videos today with Tommy, (Kind of tired of the acoustic performances tbh ) But, stupid opinion, to even say this without looking, : but I really don't think that Tommy have played better than Kevin. I'm not a guitar player, and probably talking out of my butt here, but what I've noticed from watching Tommy in previous videos, when he was playing lead or otherwise, is that I don't think he has good finger dexterity, which causes him to miss cues, notes, and timing. And this just makes Adam have to match, or underplay to keep in line with Tommy, other than Tommy flowing and keeping up, and following Adam's lead.

Glad everyone is so jazzed on new music. I'm in the - I think it's pretty good camp but can't tell from the audio quality I have heard... l can't get past the drum mix that overwhelms everything else even adam's voice and were there other instruments?. So yay new music and I like what I can tell of the sinuous chokehold and boppy cuckoo but will have to hold on the flail until I hear the recorded ones (wanders back behind the rocks to wait (im)patiently). Oh and BTW that isn't meant to be critical of the great gals who recorded it and stayed up late to upload for the fans. Obviously the venue mix was really tough to record - so kudos to stellar fan effort!!!! I had to dig out my headphones so I didn't disturb my neighbors listening to Chokehold over and over, but wow what a difference with them on! Misha's video sound was the best though there was some distortion in the beginning.. but I could hear the other instruments much better with the headphones and Adam's vocals were sublime! ETA one drawback with the headphones.. I could hear people talking through the song.. :

Katy doesn't really have "stans". It is kind of weird. Bruno does and he is getting more everyday. Rihanna has stans- don't mess with them! lol I think these artists are at a different level. They do the special shows like JBBs and Spring Flings. I'm not sure how many acoustic radio visits they have to do anymore. They have contests at the radio stations to win backstage passes or tickets to their concerts. Those are the kinds of deals that artists at this level make with radio stations.

Thanks guys for the reassurance! Appreciate the info about the camera, adamfanem. I'd hoped Star 94 would have posted videos by now. And I hope they will post the entire session rather than compilation videos that I've seen they sometimes provide. My memory of the exact details of the Q&A is fading. It was a good, friendly group of Adam fans. We were able to hear Adam's soundcheck while eating pizza. Before pizza came, one woman and the youngish guy with her--dressed kind of in Adam glam style--started playing on her camera some in-studio video she'd taken from Adam's early morning interview at Q100. I think she had some connection to the Adam Bomb show. We saw her, that guy, and a few other people from the morning's meet and greet at the Jezebel party later that night. I can't recall if she had a video camera with her then, but she was watching from center stage. During lunch, a woman who worked at the station canvassed the crowd for questions to ask Adam. She said they would have to be approved first by Adam's management. I asked about the name of the next single, but figured that question wouldn't get answered. My heart stopped when we walked into the performance area and saw how close we'd be sitting to Adam. I noticed in the station photos that I look like a lovesick schoolgirl gazing at Adam, and that's pretty close to how I felt! LOL. Once, on reflex, I looked away from him toward the person asking him a question and mentally slapped myself to return my focus to Adam because I knew it would all be over in a flash and I didn't want to miss his reactions, or a single expression that crossed his face./crazy
He is truly beautiful. His mouth was obscured by the microphone most of the time but amazing eyes and nose (like you don't know this already). But, seriously, beautifully sculpted. And such strong charisma.
Most of the questions led to some version of answers we've already heard before. He was asked about Peyton Manning (I think? or some football player) and he joked about how he doesn't even know who that is, and asked if they really expected him to watch sports. A Star 94 producer apparently has a running bit as a bad saxophone player. He played one of Adam's songs and asked him to guess which one it was. I recognized IIHY before Adam did, but I refrained from shouting out the answer! In the thread the other day, someone said that it looked in the photos like he was talking to mayumi or me. But he was having a dialogue about Halloween costumes with the woman seated to the right of me. She got in two or three followup questions before radio people intervened. At the end, she was excited, and couldn't believe she had a conversation with Adam. I was like, "I know, you go!" Adam sang BTIKM and WWFM and sounded incredible. Fans watching outside the window, on the street, screamed for him after it was all over. Mayumi and I were the second pair to go up for photos and she had a good conversation with him. They gave us a signed photo after we took the picture and told us we could exit out a certain door, but we went back to sit down and watch Adam take photos with the other fans, and also to wait to see if he would sign mayumi's great banner, as he said he wanted to do. He shook hands first with some people--mostly the men--then hugged them afterward, and hugged others once they were standing near him, depending on how he read their desire (I guess he could tell I wanted a hug!). But I noticed at a certain point, not sure when it happened, that Adam just started opening his arms for a hug as people walked up, before they got close, before they could ask. So sweet! He spoke at length to a few groups who came up for photos. One was the Adam Bomb lady (heard him mention "Adam Bomb," too). Another was a guy with long hair, and it seemed they had mutual friends. They spoke for a really long time, getting kinda animated, until finally the guy with the autographed photos walked up to give them the signed pictures to indicate that they should move along. Adam signed the banner before he left and I got another chance to say something scintillating like "thank you" and grin at him all starry-eyed. Adam left the room, then came back out again to head to his car, and that long-haired guy asked Adam to record something into his video camera. I heard Adam taping a message and singing happy birthday to someone. He was so cute. Then we watched him leave and wave at the fans on the street and get in the car. Mayumi exchanged some info with radio station peeps, and with a lady she met who's also going to Sonisphere. Then a station guy who tapes promos asked a small group of us still there if we'd record station messages. Doing the cold reads reminded me of Adam doing sound bites at the radio stations. The whole day was awesome. I feel like I won the lottery. I'm really happy for everyone here who's won a meet and greet! I'm looking forward to catching up on videos and recaps this weekend and reading the upcoming reports.

Re: Kevin vs. Tommy - I am actually usually quite critical of Tommy, but I have to say, this BTIKM video today was the first time I would say I really liked what I heard from him.
He sounded warm and finally was not dragging, like he likes to do. He had variation in his play and generally did not try to lead, but just followed Adam, as it should be.
I love Kevin on the keys, but I have never warmed up to him on guitar. To me it sounds like he is trying to bring some additional interest in with some dissonances, but he does not have the skill to do them well and so they sound clumsy and quite frankly on certain accords outright wrong. I know he plays those accords on purpose, but it does not sound that way. On the keys, when he gets creative, he just has more skills to blend the sounds smoothly together, so it seems more appropriate.
To me Kevin overall sounds ambitious. He wants to develop his own sound, really be a musician and creative participant. Tommy tends to, imo be so laid back that he just goes with the flow in a "whatever" kind of way and then he tends to start lagging behind or starts to hide instead of carrying his weight. But I never thought that Kevin was better on guitar than Tommy. Never thought that at all.
So today with this acoustic version, I got to give Tommy credit for how he played here. Now he just needs to stretch himself a bit and pull his weight as part of the band a bit more. I am saying that mostly based on Snowcase, because I don't feel that the Atlanta performances yesterday allow any reasonable conversation about the band due to all the sound problems.
Overall, I think that the band still has quite some room to grow, tbh. I am giving them a bit more time though. They have not played together nearly enough to develop those synergies. Whether it will ever happen, I don't know. In the end, they are a backing band and not a band on their own, so I don't know whether it can or ever will happen.
Adam sounded great, as usual.

I want to preface this by saying I have no extreme fondness for either Kevin or Tommy except as adjuncts to Adam.
That said, tommy is a better guitar player. On keys he would probably be sorta competent but that's not where he shines.
Kevin is a brilliant keys guy. Understands music. But he is barely adequate as a guitar player.
This is not personal, just coming from someone who has grown up surrounded by musicians.
And yes, tommy has to learn to communicate more ith Adam during songs. He's still a rookie at true accompaniment, as opposed to playing in a band.
