I guess the eyeliner is supposed to be gender bending with Adam - yes? ..'cause I haven't noticed anything else... he is as manly as any "true" man can only dream to be. and how is Gaga "challenging common notions of gender"? - I am clueless re her... I'm guessing the author meant "notions of gender" to be stereotypes but without the full page I can't be certain. A bit disappointed the ninjas haven't ID'd this yet. I found this ... and the book is here ... www.amazon.com/Modules-Science-Psychology-Laura-King/dp/007803549X

"a rapt audience of 50 contest winners (most of whom looked to be thrilled suburban moms)" Sigh. Exactly who do they think is most likely to be able to show up on a week day? Lots of people can't get away from work or school for these things, see lynne's post, above. Me, I'm ready to quit worrying about this perception, and especially ready to quit reacting to it as if it were a terrible thing to be perceived as a suburban mom. Older women are one of the most stigmatized groups in our society, and I'm ready to reject the stigma, be proud of who I am, including a few gray hairs and battle scars. Wanna scream out, no more hiding ... and ... Walk that walk like you don't give a fuck. As a wise man once said.

JS Here's my limerick attempt: There once was a crooner named Lambert Dressed to kill from his boots to his glam-shirt But if you're a gal He'll just be your pal Unless you're hiding a prize 'neath your damn-skirt! ;D

Here's my limerick ... There was a wild child from L.A. Who could sing the worst blues away When his body was movin' Everybody'd start groovin' And joy would light up the day.

I'm quoting myself from yesterday: : Unfortunately you can't vote for BTIKM on the German Radio FFH any longer, so the link can be removed from the first page! :-[ Thank you!
