lynne -- I'm glad your family member is able to reach out to you! I had a boyfriend at a conservative college when I was in college (different schools, thank God), and the place was a mind-trip. The married housing was larger than the single student housing because men and women couldn't really mingle in healthy ways and so they got married too soon. Also, lots of women trolling for husbands. I'm not sure what the atmosphere is where he is, but those college environments can be pretty toxic. Is there a local group outside the school where he can get involved with cool folks (like us?). There must be some sort of PFLAG group around or something. I'm glad he can talk with you--he has a blessing in that!

Hoopla THANK YOU for the detailed recaps... You sure know how to make the most of an opportunity. I'm sure Adam was happy to have an intelligent conversation with a fan... Makes the event special for him, for you and for us!
As for acoustic Cuckoo-- that is smoking hot!!!!!!!

I didn't know Leila went out with Sauli and his sisters!! How fun!! Yes, she's in the pic that was in the blog, next to Sauli. She looked really small so it was hard to recognize her at first. www.saulikoskinen.net/2012/03/siskot/

I can make a m4a, but everyone usually asks for mp3s. :-/ If you don't mind.. thank you so much.. I like the MP4A, coz they only take up 1-2mb compare to MP3 (5MB). From what I've read, m4a is a much better use of space. It's the kind of download that terra calls "lossless". Even though the file is compressed, you don't lose the quality. My son tried to explain how that works to me, but... 2012-03-19 Cuckoo @99.7ThePoint KansasCity MO,m4a 2.08 MB | 3:41 min www.mediafire.com/?45sdbrmnsfknnfa

IKR.. that's probably why she's not helping him in the FanClub anymore. ??? Fan club is actually based in Sacramento It sure is! GroundCtrl was one of my first job-hunting stops when I moved to Sac--remind me to tell you THAT story sometime! : (I dropped off my resume, talked to a guy...)

ETA: Misha, Sam would never say if his song is on the album. I think it is just part of "artist ettiquette." You're probably right, but the way Sam interrupted the interviewer who asked about "Broken English" (kinda hard to hear those EQ interviews because the music is so loud!) with that response made me think it wasn't a sure thing (still think it's a good bet for the deluxe CD at least). He didn't make the same kind of remark about "Shady" (but then there's no way that song wouldn't make the album).

This story of this man at the station concert really hits home today for me. One of the sons of an extended family member just sent me a long Facebook message telling me that he is gay, something I have been pretty sure about for some time. His immediate family is very conservative and strictly religious, and although I believe they suspect he is gay, some of them come from a "love the sinner, but encourage him to overcome the temptation to sin" type of mentality. He is beautiful and sensitive and talented, and I believe he doesn't open up to his family completely because he doesn't want to hurt them. I have tried to create openings for discussion with him when we are together. I think he has always been a bit drawn to me for some reason, probably because he knows I've always had a soft spot for him. Ive shared with him my admiration for Adam Lambert's music and for the way he lives his life partly to let him know my own views about issues I think may be relevant to him. Today, I just received a Facebook message from this kid, who moved away from California to another city to attend a conservative college, (I believe at the suggestion of his family) telling me he is gay and feels alone and angry because he sometimes doesn't feel safe in the city where he is... heartbreaking and scary. I wish I had better answers to give him. I wish the world would always show him better answers. I love Adam for his music and talent, but I also love him tonight for showing his real face to the world and for having the courage and honesty to be himself, to walk the walk and not give a f*ck. I know it can feel like you are not doing enough, but just listening, talking to him and being supportive can mean a lot. Just keep being that positive role model and good friend/family!
