This is totally just an example and has no bearing on Adam's album sales, but take the band Train for example. They have sold 950K of there last album and had a massive hit Hey Soul Sister off of it that has sold over 5 million in the US. There latest album was released a few weeks ago. They spent the week prior and the week of in Amazon Top 10. They sold 74K the first week. So I am certainly keeping my expectations in check, as I don't want to be disappointed and it takes away from the fun of having the album. Let's all hope that Adam's album catches on with the masses organically, and it just keeps selling!  ...IMO any number is good as long as it is high enough to "finance" the tour and guarantee the next album. NCOE needs to do the job. Hope Queen related exposure will help. I am totally trying to keep my expectations in check...I am thinking that just the "core fans" will buy in the area of 20k (my estimate is that there are about 5K of us in the US and most of us buy multiple copies)... IDK how many "normal" fans there are - may be another 10K? - these would by one copy...The rest is up to the promo...but MLB type appearances are a waste of time IMO - no exposure at all. We need DTWS, The VIEW, morning shows - all those that are watched by women. Also- I WANT the COLBERT BUMP. He is on the "gay" streak lately and it would be so nice of him to actually help out... |

No BS in his bag, but probably a surprise for the AI show. But for the life of me, I can't imagine what he'll be able to add. I thought the Kimmel performance of NCOE was great. But then, I'm pretty unimaginative - especially compared to AFL... As others here have said, not wishing for fog or confetti. ;D Wonder if he'll have dancers from his video... Hmmm... : |

His Idol performance should certainly help with first week sales. I think his backup divas add so much to the performance.

Willie Nelson releases on 5/15 too. He is in the top 20 on Amazon right now. What are his sales predictions I wonder?

His Idol performance should certainly help with first week sales. 8-) Didn't Daughtry's and JD's album get some good bumps after their Idol performance? I'm not sure the singles they performed did, but I thought their albums did. |

ya... but remember WWFM on AI? WHO could've come up with THAT??? Exactly - and the greatest thing about that was it was so original, but the VOICE was still the main thing... "My mouth dropped open..." It also helped that he performed during the singularly most boring season of American Idol. Anyone with a pulse was more exciting than those contestants. All the guest performances have been quite elaborate this year.....I'm sure Adam will have a decent budget and blow us all away. (Lisa Marie Presley is gonna get a lot of buzz....Adam has to compete with THAT). |
