I agree with Nica575. I don't get what the MLB thing is going to do for sales.
Adam needs to be on The View and at least one of the morning shows as a starter. I checked and even David Cook did The Today Show (interview and music) during release week for this last cd.
What concerns me is that Adam is going to be out of the country for much of June and July. He is doing radio concerts the last week of May. So not much time to do TV.

Wanted to say thanks to Happy and her Tech Support for sharing her news and giving us the lyrics and liner notes. It was so exciting to see them. I had some major oral surgery and have been pretty heavily medicated and when Happy first posted I wasn't coordinated enough to post my thanks. (I wasn't even sure if I was actually seeing them or just imagining them!!!) I am so looking forward to hearing the entire album next week and then seeing Adam perform live 3 times in a couple of weeks It's been a long wait but it's almost over now. I hope your surgery went well. You have my empathy. Keep the ice bags on and rinse!

Exactly - and the greatest thing about that was it was so original, but the VOICE was still the main thing... "My mouth dropped open..." It also helped that he performed during the singularly most boring season of American Idol. Anyone with a pulse was more exciting than those contestants. All the guest performances have been quite elaborate this year.....I'm sure Adam will have a decent budget and blow us all away. (Lisa Marie Presley is gonna get a lot of buzz....Adam has to compete with THAT). Do you really think Lisa Marie Presley is going to get buzz? Gah, I couldn't care less about her! How old is she? And it wouldn't matter who she was on with that night.

This is totally just an example and has no bearing on Adam's album sales, but take the band Train for example. They have sold 950K of there last album and had a massive hit Hey Soul Sister off of it that has sold over 5 million in the US. There latest album was released a few weeks ago. They spent the week prior and the week of in Amazon Top 10. They sold 74K the first week. So I am certainly keeping my expectations in check, as I don't want to be disappointed and it takes away from the fun of having the album. Let's all hope that Adam's album catches on with the masses organically, and it just keeps selling! Exactly. What I want is for Trespassing to get good critical reception, and for Adam to have good promo, and to have steady sustained sales. I'm whole-hearted in line with above two posts. not gonna angst about the numbers for the first few weeks, hope for critical acclaim and sustained sales! Q3 posted some other idols' first week sales up thread, I'm really surprised about Hudson's number, even higher than Kelly. Okay, I have to confess that I don't really keep up with pop culture in general, and Adam is the only one that I've ever fallen into rabbit hole for. So, please, can someone enlighten me if Hudson sells as many albums as Kelly then? I can't say that I've ever heard her songs on the radio at all! ??? (except her weight watcher commercial on TV)

No, Jennifer doesn't sell anywhere near as many records as Kelly. Her first week was great but she has not had the sustained sales that Kelly has had. Kelly also sells internationally.

JHud had MASSIVE promo during her cd release. I don't believe she had much success with radio airplay or with a single lead-in. It was the TV appearances and magazine covers that sold her album.

Thank you for filling in the blanks, mys*&@^#r50 and heathcliff! I saw Hudson in "Dream Girls" and she was great, but I just couldn't see her selling tons of albums, selling out concerts, not to even mention a world tour of epic proportion.
Kinda OT, but Kelly's got a concert date in Phoenix here in August at USairways Center, where the Phoenix Suns plays. However, she is sharing the stage with the Fray, kinda odd, don't you think? I mean, Phoenix is a total Kelly Country! The radio here (all formats) play her songs, past and current, to death! I'm certain she can fill up that place by herself.

Maybe Happy can verify this. Gale Whittington @galechester Apparently, this is the pic on the back of ADAM LAMBERT'S Trespassing CD, via Amazon:... fb.me/14lDkES5RYes that is the back of the cd and the album. I thought it was a cool picture carrying on the the spirit of androgyny and making good use of his infiinity pool.
