Notes on the concert: Adam was great. He was himself. It's what I wanted my bestfriend to see when I bought our tickets. We were in fanzone. And we're standing. There were technical mistakes, sometimes instruments were too loud. About Zemfira personal opinion:crowd didn't welcomed her, i understand she is kind of snobbish, but i felt bad for her. She is not a bad singer, but i believe she had a difficult time singing in english. They were more kind after performance. Last part of concert I couldn't tape or make photo because I was dancing and "having a good time" =)). Some were very impressed by Adam, few were not, i get from them they wanted a copy of Freddy. Three men before us were having a blast with someone's daughter. I heard guys discussing Adam appearance, they're shocked when he returned without jacket only in t-shirt. They were saying he looked like Rembo, it was funny=). They didn't expect muscles. After concert we were amezed. We plannet to go to Red Squar, but my friend who wasn't Adam's fan told me: "What is Red Squar after this concert" Cosh - thank you for this review, especially from a local's perspective. So good to hear that your friend became a believer. I love the guys noticing A's muscles. I'm surprised that Zemfira wasn't received very well. Any idea why? Thanks to all others for recaps and vids/downloads etc. One quick note, 'cause I'm finishing my packing and heading out. OMG! One of my very favorite moments (of many) so far is A and Roger singing Under Pressure. I love that song now but was not aware of it before. When I heard the coaches sing it on the voice, I thought it was terrible. So I went back to give them another chance. Nope. Still God awful!!! ;D

Still watching vids, way too late in the evening/early in the morning. Adam is so hugely theatrical. Not at all like Freddie in his voice, his movements, his expressions or even his attitude. What they have in common, tho', is their command of the stage from back to front, left to right, and out into the audience. Their engaging with the audience. Their sheer audacity. And their way with a costume. Out of curiosity, I looked at some YT of Paul Rogers with Queen to see how he handled the same songs as Adam. Setting aside their vocal differences, which are significant, I concentrated on their performance style. Wow! Paul basically stood on the stage in front of the mic stand and sang. Walked out on the cat walk occasionally, carrying the mic stand with him. Then, for variety, he would stand in one place with the mic in one hand, and the stand uplifted in his other hand. Your basic rocker dude singing. But, not performing, if you know what I mean. No dancing, no exchange/connection with the audience or with the band, and no style in his dress. And, no palpable joy. A workhorse delivery. I have to think that Roger and Brian, having created hundreds of live shows with Freddie must have been frustrated with the limitations of such a front man. With Freddie it was not just about the singing, it was about the SHOW! No wonder they are so pleased with Adam. No wonder they felt a connection with him. He brought the theater back into the show. So glad you mentioned the Paul Rodgers shows because when I watched them I was stunned about how mundane they were, but hesitated to say anything for fear it would come out partisan. Unfairly, I'm sure, I disliked him immediately because he was so detached, to me, both from what he was singing, from the band, and from the audience. Enough said about him. I've been sending videos hourly to a fellow Adam fan who actually has a life, so she called me today to ask what she should watch today (rest will be seen this weekend) and I had to tell her the Radio GaGa (one of my least fav Queen songs) from Moscow because Adam is a lunatic and I laughed the whole way through it. It wasn't even a very good video, speakers in the way, he would disappear from the screen, but when he was there it was up close and totally Adam. This had been so much fun and I can't wait for the rest of the Queenbert concerts, but I'm ready for him to tour Trespassing and use all the experience he's gained from the Queen gig to blow our minds.

Talon, I'm curious. What did most Queen fans think about the Paul Rogers collaborations?

Ok I'm trying to upload the FLAC files to mediafire but it's going to take about 2 hours I think. In case you don't know FLAC is an audio type which is superior to Mp3 because it doesn't compress the audio. Now unfortunately the world is Mp3 based as far as players generally go (ipods and the like). You can find plugins for any media player on computers. You can also convert the files to Mp3 using any number of free software. I won't do it for you though because it's a rule of the queenzone site to never convert any FLAC to MP3 and share it. They are trying to maintain an integrity of having the highest quality recordings available and don't want to sully the pool so to speak. BUT there's no rule against converting to Mp3 for your own personal use.
