Adam's tweets on Les Mis (I sure didn't see "HATED" in his words ) made me think about other movie musicals that I have enjoyed such as Moulin Rouge' that had non-singing actors (Nicole Kidman for one). Quite a few actually...Gigi is another...Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire ...Johnny Depp was mentioned. Not sure where I stand on this. I love musicals so many times I overlook ,may I say, out of tune singing for the enjoyment of the songs. Adam's favorite movie is Velvet Goldmine; I need to revisit it ...wonder if there is a pass for rock opera. I am with you, Sagittarius... It is not overlook for me but that I could not identify them. Unfortunately or fortunately, because of this blog, I will be looking for this out of tune instead of enjoying it immensely. Odds are I can not... I only know whether it is pleasant or unpleasant to my ear. But this film is really emotional ... not a light one like Gigi which I love very much. |

I'm so glad we are all discussing this now! Look-I grew up w this musical and so my expectations are quite high. Didn't mean to b negativetomorrow for us is already today for Adam in Bali. I bet they're going to have their rehearsal shortly. While Adam's on stage I will be at work tomorrow :( :( :(. If there's no live stream, I hope to see videos after work. |

Adam realised he threw the cat amongst the pigeons with his tweets. Great comeback, Adam! Especially encouraging people to go and see the movie.
Anne Hathaway is a brilliant actor. I've seen her in many roles and can see why people are queuing to give her work. I love how Adam also acknowledges her talent (as well as some of the others)

Katie Morgan @katiemorgan9 @adamlambert I'd rather see phenomenal acting performances w/ great voices vs. phenomenal singing & bad acting. Adam Lambert @adamlambert@katiemorgan9 good point- but there needed to be a better balance. Isn't it the ACTUALY point Adam's trying to make? Why don't they cast great actor who can actually sing? :dunno: |
