I wonder what RCA had in mind when they agreed to release it. Did it cost them very little, so no biggie, did Adam push for it, was it released as good PR , was the Trevor Project asking for something from Adam. I wonder what tptb thought. I'm sorry to see the low sales.... doesn't appear that the Trevor Project will be getting very much $$. It appears that Adam wanted to do this and RCA, Adam, his cowriters and Billboard (producer) agreed to wave their royalties. I think AO.com sales of Aftermath Remix should be over 8K units -- so probably worth more as PR than direct money to The Trevor Project. But the campaign generated many additional donations from Adam fans -- both of money and volunteers. And building awareness and creating a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone is a core part of The Trevor Project mission, and this effort exposed millions of people to this song and its message.

well I am probably a bad stan. I didn't buy the remix from I tunes. I bought it from AO and gifted some from there as well. Add to that the multiple copies of the dvd and that was enough. I'm a bad stan too Tina because I only purchased one copy of the remix off AO just in time for it to count for the Trevor project. o/ *guilty* No wait, I think I did purchase it from iTunes too, but not download. It's in cyber Purgatory with my Scissor Sisters d/l from Amazon. : Melisende, kudos to you for having such an awesome Adam Bash!! Your martinis and cupcakes look incredible and leg of lamb??? Yum. And OMG! you went ALL OUT!! Sorry about host's table. :-[ BTW, I'm sending a cyber ass-kicking your brother and s-i-l's way. Sometimes, I'm convinced that when people really try to get someone's goat, they counter with the most extreme argument possible, which throws people off guard. It's typical with online posters. I mean, how many times have we seen haters insisting Adam can't sing? Which is a LooOOOLLL, of course. And I'd like to know who's concerts they've been frequenting if Adam doesn't have stage presence ... ???

Maybe because radio is not playing this song. Once at 10 PM is not going to gain popularity Why aren't other stations picking it up? But not even a lot of fans bought it. The total, from RCA ED, is sad. A $16 DVD sold 4 times the amount of a $1 single! :-/ Ok, I sooo don't need another copy, but just bought it on iTunes. I really want to help. Reate some buzz about this single!

I am thankful that Acoustic Live!, Aftermath Remix and GML -- all interim projects -- have kept Adam in the press and gotten him a bit of radio airplay. Very few new artist have this kind of product at all. We are really lucky -- most Idol alums get an album, 1 or 2 videos, and 1 or 2 singles promoted to radio. Cook got an album, 1 single promoted to radio, and 2 videos plus promotional support for a US tour. We are in the lead up to his new album and there is little promotion. Adam got 1 album, 3 US singles released to radio + TFM, 3 videos + TFM, 2 EPs, a DVD+CD from the tour, singles in at least 28 countries, plus support for a worldwide tour (including 2 promo trips to UK/Europe and 1 promo trip to Asia-Pacific). Adam's album is due out in the Fall and he is getting more press and buzz than anyone from Idol except Carrie Underwood. That includes Cook, Daughtry and Kelly. (Disclaimer: I'm not a Cook fan!) RCA Ed said that Cook didn't release any B-sides, acoustic singles or live music because he didn't like the way any of it sounded. (which seems like a rather short sighted decision) Cook did, however, have 3 singles released and promoted to radio. The 3 singles were TOML, Light On and CBTM. Two of those singles had videos. I believe they tried to push a couple of his songs to rock radio. I know that RCA didn't do a huge push internationally, but didn't Cook's album sell around 200K outside of the US? There had to be some type of promotion overseas. He did have a mini Asian Tour that drew huge concert crowds. Didn't Daughtry have 3 singles with videos from his last album? RCA just released his 2nd B-sides album. Kelly had 3 singles, with videos from her last album and an international tour to support the album. I agree that we are lucky, but RCA has fully supported some of the other Idols. Lee and Crystal...not so much. LOL

All the fans bought Aftermath remix from AO. Non fans wouldn't know about it and Adam's idol performance was of acoustic version so not a direct promotion of the remix version... which all adds up to no reason for people to buy on iTunes.

Coming in late to this discussion, and I haven't seen the #s for Aftermath Remix, but I gather they're not huge, eh? For me, the whole thing was kind of weird-- a sudden announcement, and then a few mentions and appearances, but it the message was mixed in with GNL news, and 'working on album #2 news', etc. And a nice AI gig, but no info on how to order the song on air, and nothing on iTunes. I bought it on AO and on iTunes, like a good little fan. For me, though, what is cool about the whole thing is: 1) Adam is creative and persistent and when he wants something, he can make it happen. 2) He likes to think outside the box, and much like he recycles his wardrobe, is able to use material from a 16-month old album in fresh ways. 3) He is willing to get behind causes he supports, and is okay being a more vocal advocate for LGBTQ issues. Maybe not everything he tries will be a raging success, but I'd rather he try new things and take risks. He's a quick study, and he'll learn as he grows. I think whatever success the Aftermath Remix has had, is due to his own enthusiasm for it. Gotta love that.

"The rest of the group (some of who had been to a previous concert or where not really fans), all agreed that Adam puts on a great show and they’ll be buying tickets to any future shows he does in Vancouver. All in all we had a wonderful time and Adam fans are the best people in the world. I love meeting them & hanging out with them and wish we could do it more often – esp. my “sister from another mister” mariapf who is more fun than a greased barrel of monkeys." Melisende, thank you for the kind words and especially for all the effort you put into making that amazingly delicious dinner and arranging a wonderful party...I am still working on getting splinters out of my butt and trying to heal my tailbone, I might as well own up, it was I who accidently destroyed the fragile antique end table, talking about mortified :-/, I can't blame the alcohol, there was only one glamtini consumed, so I'll blame it on the excitement of Adam or something....I know you'll let me know whatever amends need to be made to your host... (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa)....of course if the earth had opened up and swallowed me as I wished when the accident happened, I would have missed the Adam concert, so : I really loved spending time with fellow pf-ers and I really enjoyed your screen writer friend and his genuine excitement over Adam. Not sure why your brother still doesn't get it, but critiquing Adam's stage presence is interesting :

Q3 - Your explanations and comparisons are *so* helpful in putting things in perspective. Your post on a previous page listing Adam's accomplishments since AI shows us how well he is really doing. Thanks! Things are pretty much win win lately pr wise. And with all the great resources here - pics, vids, articles, etc. I should be able to muddle through between sightings/appearances. Thanks to all here who find every little thing out there about him!
