Listening once (twice, five times) again to the Adam/Nikka YT. Creepy views of Adam's mouth/throat included, which, of course, fascinate me.
What's so great about this? 1. Technically speaking, he demonstrates a full two octave range in about a minute --- at the top, an E5, and the bottom an E3. More range than most all of the male pop guys I have heard. 2. This is Adam's voice raw. No electronics, no reverb, no tweaks, of course no autotune. Adam au naturale. 3. This shows Adam's smooth transition between his head and chest registers. The second time he sings the phrase he shifts into head voice for the final note he adds at 0:16. Again with head voice at 0:23, then, for the run going down and smooth blended voice thruout until it ends in rich chest voice. A belting chest voice with added head resonance at 0:46 for the run down, then shifting back to head voice for the light end of the phrase, showing power and subtlety on one phrase. 4. This shows Adam's creative ability to turn a phrase and make a tune out of nothing. We have heard that many times live with some of the rock covers that normally don't move out of a narrow range, but with Adam have all kinds of soaring vocals. Those might be rehearsed, this is obviously off the top of his head. 5. The mouth shot shows him executing a vibrato with great muscle control. 6. The ending belting battle shows great breath support.
7. The whole thing shows Adam's fun sense of humor. He is not at all afraid of even mocking himself and his voice/stylings.
Plus we get his delightful laugh, which Angelina described to me as looking like glittery gold and silver bubbles (she has synesthesia, and SEES sounds).
All this in 1:30. A brief glimpse of why Adam is worth our adoration and stanning.

Melisende, kudos to you for having such an awesome Adam Bash!! Your martinis and cupcakes look incredible and leg of lamb??? Yum. And OMG! you went ALL OUT!! Sorry about host's table. :-[ BTW, I'm sending a cyber ass-kicking your brother and s-i-l's way. Sometimes, I'm convinced that when people really try to get someone's goat, they counter with the most extreme argument possible, which throws people off guard. It's typical with online posters. I mean, how many times have we seen haters insisting Adam can't sing? Which is a LooOOOLLL, of course. And I'd like to know who's concerts they've been frequenting if Adam doesn't have stage presence ... ??? I had some really good recipes for our party menu. There was: Pre-dinner Blackberry Pom Glo-tinis and Manglo Martinis Cheese selection Garlic infused goat cheese dip served with grilled pita Whole grain crackers and Garlic Red Pepper spread Antipasto Mini-quiches Dinner: Gingered Carrot Salad Edamame Salad Grilled Leg of Lamb & Mint Sauce Miso-Glazed Chicken Breast Spanish Rice Roasted Root Vegetables Carrot Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting Lemon Cream Cupcakes with Blue Curacao Buttercream Frosting I think what irritates me the most about you my brother's attitude, is that he should know better. He tried for many years to make it as a rock musician and he still writes music. You'd think he would recognize incredible performing talent when he sees it. However, I also recognize that MANY people in the North America don't recognize Adam's talent. One of the questions I'm repeatedly asked is (including at the party) : “Why has Adam not made it to the top tier of performers? Why, at his age, and after a widely publicized debut album and run on AI does he not occupy the same star level as Gaga/Kesha/Bruno Mars? And I truly don't know why Bruno Mars gets every awful, sappy clichéd song he releases played to death on the charts and we have to beg the PDs to add Adam. I don't know how to answer that. All I hope is that Adam’s passionate fan base will keep him in the public eye and that there are enough people who still want to hear “real music” that Adam will not have a problem filling concert halls. (ps. that's why we need to cast those 10 votes a day for the Glambert army on MTV. It has to be clear to the media that Adam fans are not going away and we're a force to be reckoned with.) Someone made the comment earlier that Kesha doesn't have a huge fan base - which I agree with - but she's been booked into an arena show (same one Lady Gaga played and Britney is going to play) and it will be interesting to see how that sells.

This series of tweets (read bottom up) is from the young 15 year old NZ DJ who put on that 3 hour Adam special a few days ago. He has been trying REALLY hard to get Adam to phone in, even launching an on-line petition to Sony NZ. I suspect that NZ has had more than it's fair share of Adam phoning in to radio stations lately ; But way to go Liam \o/ - 1 hour weekly show ;D LiamMcEwan Liam McEwan @adamlambert Weekly Radio Special starting this week!!! Will let you know time & date shortly... Just got email from Sony. "At this point in time we cannot make an Adam interview happen as something like this has already taken place." :( and now for the bad news.... Well every week on a Sunday morning I will be presenting a one hour Adam Lambert Radio Show!!!!! What would you say if I told you I was gonna be putting on a weekly Adam Lambert radio show? Ok then, good news first! Hey Glamberts! Do you wanna know the good news or the bad news first?
