I have a question for the Finns!! Why are there 3 Santas? I guess we are used to only having one!!! No idea! Usually just one here too, with an elf as an helper or one of the family kids is acting as helper with the gifts. The middle one has a guitar of a sorts, maybe helping with the singing - and who knows, maybe Adam did sing something there too LOL. The Koskinen family has now it's own Christmas sekret!

WOW!! 31 dudes. Have any of the dudes expressed an opinion? I don't know who is a dude. I just assumed we were all women of all ages. So glad to hear there are men here. I had two sons so when I think of two young men fighting my only point of reference is my sons. They wrestled, fought, swore, laughed, threw things, messed my house up, tore out the front door and broke the hinges on the screen. It always ended up in laughter and me standing in the living room threatening to tell their father. They were both over 6 foot. I am 4'11". That is why I had to say "I am going to tell your father." I even had to chase them with a broom. My one son wore a size 12 1/2 shoe. I picked it up and threw it at him once, but missed, taking out two posts from the stairway to the upstairs. That is my frame of reference. Anybody else think differently or had other experiences. Adam and Neil wrestling could be compared to this example. Adam and Sauli are lovers- they are in a different kind of relationship than a brotherly one. And? Not sure if that means they shouldn't be physical in anger or frustration. I'm not saying it's a good thing, but most guys get physical at one time or another in their lives.

I know I am about to open a can of worms here but isn't any relationship between two men whether it is filial, romantic, or friendship different from a relationship between a man and a woman. Sure there can be some commonalities but men's and women's brain and bodies are wired differently and our experiences growing up are often predicated on our gender. I don't know what Adam and Sauli's relationship is like; maybe they do wrestle for fun. It's just that when the wrestling evolves into something else, they don't end up in the kitchen making pies. I didn't want to bring up the Men are from Mars thing, but it really is true.

Zinnia - As always, thanks for the translation. It means so much to so many of us. I have a question about the Christmas porridge. What are the ingredients? Wondering how it compares to Scandinavian traditions here... You are welcome . The porridge - just white rice and milk & touch of salt when it's ready. Usually eaten with cinnamon & sugar sprinkled on top, and many also add milk there too.

I doubt they were wrestling for fun the night they were taken to the police station. lol I have no idea how far the physical actions went, but the bouncers couldn't handle the scuffle or shut it down. Others got involved as far as stepping in and trying to break the fight up and the police were called. IMO, two brothers wrestling is different than two men, who are lovers, fighting in public to the point that the police have to be called. I'm not saying this incident is or was some type of shocking domestic violence, but I can't put it in the same category as two brothers who are rough housing or wrestling for fun.

I wasn't referring to "THE INCIDENT" [dun dun dun] either when talking about wrestling for fun. But I guess that if I were to follow the analogy then it might not be that different from two brothers fighting in public to the point that the police have to be called. My point was more that when two men do anything, it will be different than when a man and a woman do something similar.

My Mom made it all the time when I was a kid.
